Default Help me decide please

Hi, I need your help. I'm trying to get opinions from both sides. (Xray and Tamiya) I currently drive a Xray T1 (first gen.) which I love, but am ready for a new car. I'm going back and forth in between the Tamiya TRF415MS or the Xray Team FK. So, any comments will be appreciated, thanx.

Default XRay

Stan, I bought an XRay FT car 3 weeks ago, and with the same speed control, motor everything I picked up two full laps over my HPI Pro 4, This car is the very best car I have ever driven! I'm running it in mod with a 10x1 on foam though, not sure about rubber?

From a local Tamiya driver:

The upper plates ont he 415 are not countersunk, so every time you tap a board it has the potential to shift and tweak the car.....

Frustrated him so much that he bought my spare Evo2 off of me to give it a try...

stan

try driving a well built FK. i am sure that you will love it!!

honestly while i was driving the car i really felt like i could take on any top class racer. the car is sooo sweet its very tough and nimble. it handles like it is on rails. for stock and 19 turn nacing it handles like it on rails. for mod you might wanna use stiffer springs to get the same great handling.

the car is very consistent and almost a no brainer to drive. did i mention very tough?

on the other hand..... the 415 is also an awesome car.its acceleration is sooo smooth and has great cornering. im not sure how tough it is though.

pros and cons of the FK

pros
-very easy to be consistent lap after lap
-has a huge sweet spot in terms of set-up
-very tough
-can recover easily after a mistake
-still runs straight and true even after a huge crash

cons
-on mod motors drivetrain parts tend to wear quite noticably. (heck all cars are when you chunk your 8x2 in it)
-use of saddle packs (if it doesnt bother you at all then this isnt an issue)

stan.... what the heck are you sitting around reading this message for? get your @ss down to your LHS and get one!!!!!

haha, thanx guys. Yeah, I've been driving my T1 (First Gen) for the past couple of years and love it, so I do know how tough the car really is. Cool, thanx for the response guys.

Don't expect the FK to be as durable as your orignal T1...that PB suspension was TOUGH

Don't worry George, the car practically drives itself! With the correct set-up you will be faster. I will ba at South Shore Sun., if you need a good starting point let me know.

Hey Jamie,

What can I say. Love the way these cars run. So they'll be one under the tree this Christmas. Hopefully I can get it ready in time for Sunday.

I'm going to need help setting it up.

..............So, Merry Christmas and I'll see you at the Track!
