I believe so, as it has old steering holes as well.... however, msxx bumper is evo5, thus you need the new bumper holder....

Yes, but you i will need a new bumper as MSXX using EVO4/TA05 bumper, where MSX using 415/TA04 bumper. What I'm not sure if if you need a new 2nd deck, as I'm not really sure if steering rack is in same location (seems to be).

I have been reading about the MSX and the MSX MRE and now the MSXX. I am looking to get back into asphalt/rubber racing. What are the differences between all of these? Tamiya makes some good racers but I dont like how you have to get parts from all 3 versions to get a solid asphalt racer.

MSX is the old style steering.
MSX MRE is the new style steering with a 2.5mm bottom deck. aluminum axles and other "hopups".

MSXX is the "economy" version of the MSX MRE (less hopups). also has a 2mm lower deck.

Which one out of the box is better setup for asphalt/rubber racing? I will not be doing any carpet racing so I want to have the chassiss/top deck optimized for asphalt use only. Interested in between the MSX MRE and the MSXX.

both are "optimized" for asphalt racing. BUT i would guess the MSXX is a better car at this point because of the 2mm lower deck and it has better availability. the MRE was a limited edition. plus the MSXX is cheaper.

RC Champ had them in stock when I was upgrading my MSX. Maybe worth checking Rainbow Ten as well.

I took the MRE over the MSXX. Just certain things I liked. Plus it has everything you need for asphalt. You can also just toss on a MSXX topdeck if you want a tad more flex. I have done this to mine. You can find the MRE and/or MSXX top decks and lower decks at many of the Hong Kong shops. I've seen them everywhere online. Even try EBay as suggested. Don't forget, the MSXX is a dual oneway setup where as the MRE is spool with locked center pulley. I got my MRE For $420. Even comes with a Mazda6 body. Can't beat that deal with everything that it comes with. Only complaint with the MRE are the "hardened" aluminum gold axles. They are very very easy to bend. One slight wack or clip of the front end will warp the drive cups. I replaced my fronts with Ti ones. Here's a pic of when I clipped the wall a few times.

What class are you running, and how hard a hit to cause to warp? I was considering getting a set of those lightweight axles.

if you never crashes or very very seldom crashes during race then by all means get those lightweight axles but if you crashed more than 3 times during a race better get the steel or titanium axles they can take that beating
