use heat-conducting glue ... you can find it in every pc-modding store

you cannot change the esc-case as it is directly glued to the fets and will destroy those if you try to remove it ... what you can do is removing material from the cooling fins on the sides and on the bottom side to make it smaller ... this is what i once did ... just make sure nothings gets into the esc

Hallo Martin,

Thank you for your quick reply, it's really cool to get answer that fast !

Hm... yes, that's what I was afraid of as the genius 100 is kind of "waterproof".
Ok, I will do a "weight reducing operation" as proper as I can.

Last, I intend to use the Genius 100 with a 3.5t EVO3 (sensorless) on a Yokomo MR-4 TC BDM as yours, what is the final ratio to be used (5 cells) on a grippy track (RC Speedway Bangkok) ?

Thanks for your help once again.
Have a great week-end.

with the stock rotor (13,5mm diameter) you may want to start with a gearing around 7,0

Hi,
I'm running 1/10 tourer on a velodrome with the SP 2.5 (13800rpm/v) and the GM 95 in mode 3 for lipo without the sensor with a ratio of 7 but the speedo would shut down after 10 to 12 laps.
I tried gearing at 6.5 but it just shut down faster, am i way off with the gearing or is there a problem with the speedo or settings?

thanks

Rob

Hi,
The settings are
start amp 130
amp limit 183
turbo 1
softgas 101
fq 1
rpm limit 8
armature 3
reserved 6
curve linear
timing 7.5
abs on

would having the rpm limit at value 8 be causing the problem?
or the armature on value 3 (RPM 83333)?

Dude the answer is in your question, if you went from 7 to 6.5 and it shut down quicker, go to 7.5 or 8...sounds like you are way over geared

Yup, the gearing seems way off. last time i used a 3.5 with lipo on a big track i used 8.XX. With the 2.5 i would start at 9.XX

7 is definately overgeared ...

i run 7,0 on a huge track with a 3,5T on 5!!! cells

so gearing about 9,xish with the 2,5 wound be probably a good start

there are also some mistakes in your program:

armature 2!
softgas 100
timing 30

and i would switch of abs

that should at lest help to make 5min runtime .. if it shuts down after 4.50 or so you could program a odd reserved value to switch of the tempcut

it shuts down at a very low temp comparable to what it is capable of

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, i'll try the amended program and gear it abit higher.
Will there be much difference in the softgas between 100 and 101?
would i not get more runtime if i use the timing at 7.5 or does it need to be at 30 when running sensorless?

Thanks for your help.

Default novak gtb & gm evo3 10.5 motor

Hi , l need advice on the motor timing . do l need to adjust the motor timing when l connect the evo 10.5 to a novak gtb speedo. or should l leave it on factory setting 'B' . if l did advance the timing what would happen,? more rpm, torque, heat , go slower, l dont know

thank in advance

timing must be on setting 3 = 30° when running sensorless

novak - gm:

i think the timing must not be changed in any way but i will check that

advancing the timing:

motor and esc just gets hotter ... nothing else happens

more rpm, less efficiency, toque and runtime

Can anyone give me a starting setup for the PC software for a 4.5 GM sensorless, for a medium sized tight track (19 laps in 5 minutes) and 5 cell

Thanks

there should already be a setup posted by me a few pages back

you might want to try that one and if there's too much punch then, you should just lower the amp limit ... everything else is fine usually
