These are great fans. I've got them hooked up into both my VTA and 17.5 Spec Sedan. Just be aware that you will have to run them off the receiver and can't solder them directly to battery leads.

If you try to run them off 7.4v, they'll turn on and off and pulsate rather than blow air continuously.

If you guys mount the fan behind the motor in a standard 1/10th touring car, are you mounting the fan so that its blowing air to it? Or sucking the hot air away?

I swear by the Yeah Racing tornado fans, I run two both facing the motor fr and rr in 17.5 boosted.

I am a little anti heatsinks as I feel they keep heat in, but thats just a personal opinion that could certainly be wrong.

Speed passion heatsink and large 40mm fan. LRP, Novak make good fans. The tornado fan from yeah racing is good also.

I'm with you on the YR Tornadoes . I'm running a full Yeah Racing setup; 35A ESC, 10T Brushless and Tornado fan in my FGX .. to date never had an overheating problem even on really hot, humid days ...

Maybe a silly question but does anyone notice a difference with just double sided tape and secure it to the chassis. And would it be best to mount it on the front or rear of the motor. I never notice a temp difference when using a heatsink/fan combo. Referring to use on a 1/10 sedan.

Yes.. just use double stick tape. U mount them behind the motor. Make sure there is enough room from the fan to the motor. Id say you want at least 30mm of a gap..

Saw this in the new Yokomo thread and think I'll try it out on my next TC. Just a couple pieces of lexan to direct all the air from the fan to the motor. Great idea.
