No dud. It's just bad timing. Tamiya is getting ready for trf418/417x or whatever they're calling it. Plus this is a totally new layout. It will take time for exposure. Is it as competitive as the ta05? In the right hands, yes. Is it "better" than the ta05? Depends on who you ask. It's just been what, 8 years since the ta05 released. People are just used to it.

I like the TA06 design over the TA05 because the design is more up to date.
With the release of the TA05 Gold version, it appears Tamiya's development has peaked for this design. The only change is the color of the anno, the chassis still has slots for Nicad batteries.
The TA06 is a more contemporary design following the motor to the rear trend and in addition the battery and motor location is placed centrally, down the middle of the chassis. The rear gear box drive is arguably more efficient, however there's the long pulley and counter shaft in the front alla TA03. To me this front looks less efficient.
Probably all the arguments are all moot, because the driver is what really makes difference. For my driving abilities the only difference will be the design of the chassis, I will be struggling either way

question...
Is there any tricks specific to this chassis to help free it up ? Other then the usual cleaned and lightly oiled bearings, and making sure nothing is binding, ect...
My chassis just doesn't seem to be as loose as my other sedans...
Thanks for any kind of advice...

I havent changed the gear and shaft in the transmission to the 3 racing alum FF03 one yet but might do that next...
I did go through all the bearings and cleaned them to be safe, as well loosen the belts that probably were a little on the tight side... The car seems better when I spin the wheels by hand with the pinion off...
Going to the Exotek chassis also helped this car ... This past weekend I borrowed a friends battery to try out on a qualifying round... this battery is a 2 cell 2000 he paid $15 for at some LHS It looked so small taped in the chassis but the car was even quicker and more nimble on the infield ... power was the same as my shorty 3800... just wondering how long of a life that battery could have... but $15 is amazing...

Ti or Aluminum is too soft for one way bearing, it will eventually eat up the shaft, unless you want to keep replacing them, stick with steel shaft if you're using a one way.

Thats what I changed to last night. Abd my chassis with body and all electronics is 1499 grams. Wow, it's heavy! It's 1350 without body. I think it's the aluminum bulkheads and aluminum gears plus the heavy electronics.
