My bad... I see the weight issue between the 220mm and the 235mm has already been raised in the ROAR Nats. thread... Hopefully, ROAR will make the right and fair ruling on this.

I was doing some wieght comparisons between the 1/10 sedan and the 220mm car. The 220 car is 74g heavier to begin with running the same servo's engine, ect.... As it sits after testing with rims for tires, my car sits in close to 1850g with no added slugs..... Is 150g a lot?

Weight limit for the new 220mm class should be set at 1875 grams.

1875 sounds good for when they make the rules for it, but for now, we will have to run a little heavy....anybody got A LOT OF LEAD?

start by running standard battery with the heaviest brass tray you can get and then leave all the light weight stuff in your tool box and put the stock screws, pivot balls etc. back on your car

Adding over 200 grams will defeat the purpose of the 220 class to begin with.
Tire wear will go up and I don't know if any one has even tested the car with that much weight???

Well, I have been able to add 208 grams of weight to the car and have it all secured. However, I still need to add an additional 70grams to get it up to the 2000 gram weight limit. I leaded in the battery tray, the front chassis opening and added 65 grams to other areas all down the center line. I sure feel sorry for a turn marshal if they get in front of one of these cars. They will weight in at just over 4 1/2 lbs.

If nobody shows up with a 235mm car, we might be able to ask for consideration of the weight.

It is not the 235 cars that you have to worry about. It is the advantage over the 200mm car that is the issue. If you go with less weight it makes for an even larger advantage for the 220mm car over the 200mm. It will be interesting to see how many people actually run this class. It makes for high expenses and Mike S. is the only team guy running. Paolo and I are not and the others that have already signed up only signed for the sedan class. Good luck though it should be fun to watch these cars.

The car feels like a sled at 1994.7g....I cannot imagine adding another 6g.... I do wish to run the car, but not at the expense of twisting a chassis or destroying the car with an extra 10+ onces (275grams). If running a .15 engine, I could see running at the higher weight, but 1850 would be a good weight to be "considered" for the 220mm cars. At 4lbs 6oz VS 3lbs 8oz, The 200mm car I think would have a large advantage over the 220mm car running the same engine, wouldn't you think?

DON'T READ THE REST OF THIS UNLESS YOU LIKE NUMBERS!!!!!
If you look at the size of the 200 mm car and the size of the 235 cars, and the wieght difference between the two, is 275grams.

Taking 35mm of width and devide the wieght difference by 35 then times it by 20mm for the 220 cars, you would come up with a wieght of 1883. BUT on the same token the 220 cars run .12's not 15's, so if you look at that difference between the two engines, the .12 are 80% the size of a .15. and a smaller fuel tank by 6.25%, Take 73.75% the wieght difference of 153grams gives you 113 grams...that makes a "fair wieght" of 1837.5 grams.....make it an even number of 1835grams.....

Like Dj Said. The car is up against a 200mm car. The 220 runs ALOT bigger tires, So what disadvantage you may have in weight, you will gain alot of advantage in GRIP.And I thought I read that the 220 can be just as fast as a 1/8 scale????Thats a fast critter right there. Besides One of the 6 of you will have a National title.
