Putnam brushes in a KR??
Anyone tried Putnam brushes in a Reedy KR? I've recently started mod racing and have a load of putnams left from my stock days, I wondered what they would work like?

I wouldn't try putting Putnam brushes in a Kr. Todd himself recommends quazars in a mod.

It wouldn't hurt to try them.. Depending on the number of turns your running they might work pretty good.

Putnam brushes last only one run in 19T, you'll probably burn up the motor in less than 2 minute unless you run 14 turn or higher.

That's about right. At the Reedy Race, the most runs I got on a pair of Putnam green shunts is two.

Yes, the Putnam green brushes are their highest-silver content ones(& maybe the highest silver content you can get anywhere), & that's why they're so hard on a comm, because silver does that(it's great for power, but not known for its lubricating properties), and for Quasars, those are made by Reedy, so you can get 'em just about anywhere.....
