Ok so earlier in the summer i said i was going to make a track and in fooling around with google sketchup i made a pretty layout. I just wanted to know how wide i should make the track if im going to be running 1/8 scales on it. and what i should be looking at for area, i have 2 acres in my backyard just rough LxW would help me out.

lanes are usually around 10' wide or so and length go wild with around 2 acres shoot you can build an insane track !!

the 4th photo posted by zerodefect is what was known as "the farm" but now its the "charlotte motor sports park" in north carolina where they just held the last world champs and is a very nice track. the other photos he posted are very nice looking too and should give you a good idea of what you can do.

I really like the look of the farm and some of the better Euro tracks. Some of our tracks look like a dirt parking lot with pipes and jumps.

I think its neat how some of the Euro tracks use Grass or a dirt hill to border the track with, in some spots, rather than have pipe all the way around.
