Too bad the Roar Nationals Management Team has no balls to uphold the very rules they are supposed to represent. Burch wins from an unpenalized jump start (video verified) and Swauger has multiple runs at him from a Kyosho driver to prevent his win with no black flag. What a f*cking joke!

I'll have a full report on SGrid Online in a day or so, as soon as I can
get it typed up. Lots of photos, and some video will be included, as
well as a description of what happened. The full race report will be in
an upcoming issue of RC Car Magazine.
As to the videos, I took one from near the driver's stand, and Bob Ciolino took one from the end of the straightaway. It is perfectly clear that no cars jumped the start - by analyzing the tape, frame by frame, we can tell when the horn sounded, and when each car started to move. Ralph did NOT move before the horn went off. As to the demolition derby back in the pack, that was caused by two factors - Josh Cyrul stated 3/4 of a second late, and Jared Scott came flying up the track near the "outside" of the track. Had Josh started earlier, or had Jarod been closer to the "inside" of the track, they wouldn't have been in the crash, nor would the cars behind them (Scott Kimbrow for one) gotten tangled up in it. That might be part of why Scott's pressure line came off later, causing him to flame out.
Also, Mike Swauger thought he was called into the pits, when in fact he wasn't - Harry, his pitman, wasn't ready, grabbed a fuel bottle, filled Mikey, and put him back on the track. That was to cost Mikey several seconds.
Lastly, Ralph's engine blew up just as the race ended - Ralph was calling for Mark Blackketter to go get his car, as it was DOA on the track. Ralph was extremely low on tires, causing the poor engine to rev way higher than anyone intended, causing the two-speed to engage way too early, and eventually leading the engine to go BOOM.
Playing the "what if" game doesn't go anywhere.... there are way too many "what if's". In fact, the car that finishes first wins. Several drivers put in outstanding performances in this race. Ralph and Mikey were equally awesome in their performance on the track. So was Scott Kimbrow, from what I saw! Ditto for Joel Johnson!!! It was an outstanding race, put on by a great club. Congratulations to everyone involved.
I managed to get some of the best photos I've ever taken at an r/c car race. I'll try to get them posted in a day or two at SGrid Online, and will also post both my video and Bob's.
