Just curious but what brand/type of batteries are you building?

I went to the shop today, I got some new tin (not deans, but 60/40), and some special fluid to put on before I solder...
The problem is though, that the solder will not stick to the battery, when I try to tin it, it just makes a sort of bubble... any ideas?

The reason I asked what battery is because I'm having exactly the same problem with some IP3600. I'm using flux, 60/40 solder, hot iron/large tip and roughing up the battery but I just can't get the solder for flow on the battery and yes it seems that the battery is working like a large heat sink. I am only experiencing this problem on the IP3600 and neve had the problem with GP. I gave up tining the battery and have just tined the battery bar only. This seems to work.

Or...There are always pre-assembled packs.

Otherwise, a bubble of solder is not necessarily bad if it is well stuck to the cell.
