For you guys that run foam tires. What are you doing to get 5mm rideheight front and rear when your tires are 57mm or below? Right now my tires are at 57mm and my shock collars are bottomed out and I can barley make 5mm?
Do you guys have a adapter that allows you to make your shock springs go lower for the collar?
Thanks
Mike Webb

Ride Height
mike Webb- try placing a .100 spacer between the lower spring seat and the shock rod end. Judging by the set up sheets the Team Losi drivers are using .100 external limiters to control body roll so this might kill two birds w/ one stone.
xxxs-bill-RCCar magazine had an article like a year ago with Todd Hodges basic (asphalt?) recommended setup. You might be able to find it online!
As a matter of fact it's in the May 03 issue

...
5mm ride height is enforced at our track sometimes .
I wonder why Losi makes their harder springs in 1inch springs or they don't thread the shocks all the way down???

That is what I just figured out .
I am going to use a taller ball cup on the shaft to do it. it doesn't matter if I over limit or have no internal limiters int he shock. The Collar is to the bottom of the threads and the spring will not reach far enough to make ride height. The car will always come to rest at 4mm.
Now with the new ball cup on the bottom of the shaft I can make rideheight .. thank god for those RPM ball cups with 2 inches of threading area
it is a general rule about the 5mm rideheight. Every indoor track that I have been too has been 5mm. Even the snowbirds was 5mm

I should have been more specific...I was looking for the article in rc car or extreme that todd wrote with regards to rubber tire tuning/setup...I had purchased the magazine that had the article on foam tires.
Sorry for the confusion.

Hex adapters
I'm new to the losi xxx-s, so far love the car, But hate the wheel hexes comming off when the tire is taken off. I've breifely read something about AE ones being used. My question is since they are thicker not much threads will stick out of the wheel. Is there another mod I'm missing to get more threads? I found some clamping type on integy web sight if they will work.

On a setup from B. Flack he used .12 limiters inside the shock.

Stainless Screw Kit
After seeing my friend go through 2 broken screws in his chassis this week, it got me very interested in aftermarket screws for my XXX-S. Im wondering if stainless would be a good choice (www.rcscrewz.com on ebay specifically) Has anyone used them?
I know theres a post in this thread somewhere about them, but 250+ pages is alot to sift through. I apologise for the double post
