Hitec 7955 servos buzzing
#1
I just recently installed two Hitec 7955's on my Losi 810, and they make occasional buzzing noises when sitting idle (it almost kinda sounds like when your computer is thinking). They move appropriately and are not twitching/glitching. I am running a 2s lipo receiver battery unregulated, and have a Spektrum 3300T receiver and Spektrum DX3s remote. Any ideas? Is this normal for running servos at high voltage?

It's my first high-quality digital servos. The stock ones that came with my Losi Ten T were digital but not exactly high quality (the steering had the most torque, at 70 oz-in
). They made some occasional buzzing too, though definitely not as noticeable as my Hitecs. Having said that, they don't sound like they're straining at all, they function just fine, and I haven't actually run my rc yet to see if they settle out after a few minutes of use. By the sounds of things, I guess I shouldn't be worried. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a radio setting I was missing.

That's normal. All the upper end hitecs I've ever owned did this. It kind of irritating. They are great servos. I switched over to the ace servos back in those days and they buzzed but nowhere near as loud as the hitecs.
Look at it this way, Atleast you'll know when you leave you battery switch on.

it's normal but sometimes can be alleviated by using a Hitec servo programmer to increase the deadband width by a few milliseconds... not really recommended unless the buzzing is bad. The most common cause of servos buzzing excessively is it not going to center because of mechanical binding. Make sure throttle linkages and steering components don't cause resistance.
