8th electric cutting out
#1
After some help really, ran my mo9e for the first time today, loved the car but had a specific issue. Every now and again, as I came out of corners the motor would just cut out. It would then come back to life around 10-15secs later or if the car was picked up...it only happened every now and again, in fact it happened early during runs and not later on...am flummoxed though! My electrics are:
Mamba Monster ESC
Thunder power 1900kv motor
I am not running a capacitor
The drivetrain doesn't lock up (it is right but when the motor goes it rolls a to a stop), and the steering carries on working. I am running it at the Clash next week so don mt have masses of time to find a solution!
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Is it likely esc, or motor?
Is it an extreme version of cogging? Should I try a sensored esc with the thunderpower?
Help!!??

Do you notice any flashing lights on the ESC while it's not working?
The first thing I would do is make sure the software is updated and all the settings are reasonable (such as low voltage cutoff, timing, etc.). Then I'd check all the solder joints, especially the bullet connectors on the ESC since castle doesn't always get a solid joint... I've seen it more than once.
Next thing to try would be a capacitor. If the BEC voltage gets too low it can cause the receiver to reboot. Generally you'll lose steering control when this happens but maybe there's some fluke with your particular setup where the throttle stays off for a few seconds.
Beyond that I'd tend to blame batteries or radio but it really could be anything from a bad ESC to a motor... Hopefully one of those first two simple things takes care of it. Good luck!
