Default B4 differences

Losi racer, give me a shout. I think that question has gotten asked a few to many times by myself and others, so give me a shout and i will give you the information you need. I think a sticky should be posted at the top of the thread Showing the part number changes so guys can update as they desire. Im sure AE would rather sell parts than a kit anyways no? G

Ryan,
Can I check out the HEX on your buggy Wed?

If they are TC3 ones the part # is 3950 for normal ones and #3949 for the Graphite ones. I also found some locking HEX's from the TC5R #31234. Not sure if they will fit though. AE makes Wheels for HEX's for this buggy so I am guessing something from AE will fit but they are only for the front's

The package of hexes for the B4 I have contains 2 for the front and 2 for the rear. They aren't clamping, but it really isn't needed. The clamp just keeps the hex from pulling off when you pull the wheel off.

Going back a page or two to the servo topic, I'm running an airtronics 94746m in the buggy (lowpro .08/89oz) and the Orion 1007 in the truck. Although the buggy doesn't need a low profile servo, I ended up with it in a deal and I love it. The low profile servo leaves a nice pocket for adding weight when needed too. Its not big on torque, but the freewheeling cookie cutters on the front of a buggy don't need it, in my opinion.

The Orion is just an awesome servo... same as the savox 1257 if I remember correctly.

Although a fraction of a second doesn't seem like much, the place where the speed really makes a difference to me is corrections. You can think ahead and turn in a little sooner with a slow servo, but if someone is around you or you lose traction, waiting an extra tenth for it to go lock to lock and countersteer seems like an eternity. If you do that ten times in a race, that's a second lost.

Garodisc are now available for the "B" and"T" series AE vehicles!! these are simply the best pads, zero wear and they do not glaze. they also offer superior traction and never "let go"!

I apologize if I missed it, but I haven't seen the Reedy Truck Race setup sheet posted on rc10.com (or elsewhere). The latest T4.1 setup is BT's @ Surf City in which they ran slicks (so its probably not a good starting point). Thx!

Quite a bit worse actually Kyosho pads are 11 bucks. If those pads dont glaze it's way worth every penny but I don't see that happening. And whats up with the slot cut in them that is definitely unnecessary!!! Might give them a shot regardless??

I'm using Marcus's 2 stage pistons in my B4 and they work pretty well. They're spendy but I was intrigued by them and grabbed a set. Good results with them straight out of the package.

OK, guys I have figured it out. The hexes pictured that do work on the SC10 and B4.1 front are AE part #3973. There is also a 3972 and those do not fit. You do need to use the low profile locknuts (AE #3438) with these as well.

Hope this helps
