1/12 forum
Stock uses higher roll outs. At our track 13.5 is around 60mm, but I have seen people at other tracks running as high as 80mm. !7.5 is higher still, I have seen people running 100+ in 17.5 blinky. You can run higher on long flowing tracks than on short technical ones; you can run higher in cold temperatures than in hot ones; but the ultimate test is lap times. You run what will get you the fastest laps with acceptable temps.
I've never really understood the purpose of Dynamic Caster blocks. Can someone please explain there function? I know they reduce caster when the arm lifts.
What effect do they have entry, mid, & corner out?

less caster makes the car enter the corner harder and exit softer. With reactive caster you can set more static caster for a softer entry and increase the reactive caster (change) to reduce it through the corner for a softer exit as well.

I don't have much experience racing onroad, I do have a firm grasp on how to tune a car and what the changes actually do. I'm thinking of getting into stock witch for me is 17.5 open timing and blinkey. If I go with 1/12 for my second class I'm thinking of getting the serpent mainly because it looks like a nicely built kit. Local hobby support isn't a issue for me no matter what car I go with, because I have none. Or would vta be a better class to run, both vta and 1/12 are equally popular at the tracks I can run at. My goal is to be a better driver and have fun. I have a tamiya mini and a traxxas 1/16 both cars are very different and I can switch between them fairly easily.
Thanks
