For a 4wd buggy it's pretty tough, have had mine almost 4 years and broken very little on it. Keep a set of F&R a-arms anda few front shock shafts and eyelets and you're good. That said, 4wd buggies are probably the most fragile of all the 1/10 electric vehicles. It's just the way they're designed and the fact we tend to run a lot of hp in them. If you want something really tough for kids that age, you can't beat a SC.

Just about done with my B44.1 build . Ran in to an issue while installing the motor . My 18 tooth pinion does not reach the 81 tooth kit spur gear . I pushed the motor in all the way and I have about a 1mm gap between the pinion and spur . What is up ? Do you need a specific brand of pinion to run with this buggy ? I think I have a Robinson Racing pinion .

Perhaps I installed the motor mount cam the wrong way ? But it only seems to slide in one way so I am pretty sure that is not the problem . What is the little set screw for ? Got to be honest , not to sure about how this motor mount works . What is to keep the motor for sliding back and forth after you set the mesh ?

I am running a 8.5 Turn Novak Motor so I though 18 /81 would be a good start for gearing ? Any thoughts or suggestions on that ?

I just recently found out that a B44.1 body will not fit my B44. After painting my sweet bodies of course. I bought two cars. Mine came with the chassis trimmed and now i know why. My girlfriends is not though. It wouldnt be aproblem to trim it but I am just not sure what to trim it with. I have never messed with carbon fiber befor and dont know if it will splinter or crack or what. Any suggestions?

Wait, are you saying that the B44.1 body will not fit a B44 out of the box?

I'm looking at the chassis and it doesn't seem to be different...

What's different about it?

The .1 body wont fit the 44 chassis without mods to the body or the chassis. The 44 chassis up front is wider not as tapered. Either trim body or shave the chassis a bit.

Trimming the body would leave the chassis sticking out at the front. Not ideal...

Is it normal for the B44 to be "noisy" at neutral? When i roll it across the floor or when i let off the gas to roll into the corner, it makes a horrible noise. The mesh is fine and the drive train is fine. I think its just the motor. My jammin did the same thing so im assuming its normal?

Take the pinion gear out and push it with your hands across the floor, if no noise is present, it's somewhere between the pinion and the motor...

Its definitely the motor. But it works fine. Like i said, my Ballistic 5.5 550 did the same thing in my Jammin.

Thanks for your input. I thought about the SC trucks but decided to keep them with buggies. The DB-01 is a great chassis and my kids have really taken care of them but my LHS does not support Tamiya anymore and it sucks waiting for mail order when you need parts so it's time to move on to bigger and better. They will be driving on a backyard track and not just bashing so that keeps damage to a minimum but there are still plenty of crashes.lol.

Anyhow, I ordered up the B44's (and one for myself )and I will put them aside for Christmas presents. I will let them assemble them under my supervision, that's half the fun. It just sucks that we won't get a chance to run them untill next spring.

C'mon Christmas!!!

Oh Yeah,
I was going to order up some saddle packs from HobbyKing or HobbPartz. Does anybody have suggestions as to what will fit?

I think I remember reading that some saddle packs would not clear the upper deck properly. Is this true?

What should I look for?

Default REar CVA's

I am having a hard time trying to figure out why my rear CVA's pop out of the diffs while driving/jumping. Any ideas? Nothing is bent and running my 3 pack. Thanks...
