Hi guys,
Seriously awesome news that the stand is back up and ready to go!!
Ive got the modified trophies from last year and have noticed that they havent been engraved for a long time (2002 actually).
Does anyone have the results so that I can get them engraved and up to date? The results below are the only ones I know.
2wd:
2003 ?
2004 ?
2005 ?
2006: Matt Griffin
2007 ?
2008 ?
2009 Ray Munday
2010 Ray Munday
4wd:
2003 ?
2004 ?
2005 ?
2006: Ray Munday
2007 ?
2008 ?
2009 Matt Griffin
2010 Ray Munday
Can anyone help? Otherwise I will just get them engraved with blank spaces next to the years I dont know.
Ray

With all the ep offroad classes that need to run, there isn't time to run more classes. Last year 2wd SCT was left out of Coleman Cup to make sure there was time to get all rounds and finals done before dark. This year 2wd SCT has been included in every round of drivers series to keep people who have them happy, but this question always comes up, "What about 4wd SCT?". Where will this end, mod classes too? What about vintage racing, mini etc...

I am sure this idea will be just as unpopular as omitting classes all together, but it may come to a point where if we want ALL the available classes to run, drivers could be limited to then only running a maximum of 2 classes. Would limit the total number of entries and therefore the length of the day, whilst also keeping those vintage/SCT/SCT 4x4/8th scale EP(
?????) drivers happy...
Worth consideration i think...

Why do we need to mess with how things are atm? We have specialist events that cater for both sct categories and ppl can race in those. I think ppl are spoilt for choice with the number of big meetings we have already. Fact is no sct is homolgated with the governing body aarcmcc. Until that happens sct should remain as a demo class or have its own events.

The age old arguement. Back in the day these events were ran over 2 days. Classes were supported, then over a period of time numbers dropped off so these events went back to a one day event.
8th scale EP IMO needs to stay on 8th scale tracks. As pointed out earlier some 4x4 SCT are 8th scale buggies with SCT shells. Not all track 'volunteers' who maintain tracks for 1/10th vehicles want their work destroyed by overpowered inexperienced people.
end rant.

Lol, i encourage the rant!!! The 8th scale was just thrown in annoy people...hehe, dont even own one...yet ;-)
All good points...i do think that leaving out SCT all together would affect numbers right now, as it is the hottest new class out there and attracting new people to our hobby, and thats something we must encourage!!
All points are worthy of further discussion at the next avavilable time for an ORRCA Vic meeting in prep for planning the 2012 calender...keep the suggestions coming!!!
Or post about how great its gonna be to get back to racing at Knox for the Coleman...like this thread was intended for!! Ooops, my bad :-/

I have tried and will continue to try and plant this seed in those that can make change of
2w 540,Stock,Mod. 4w Stock,Mod. 2w SCT (13.5) and Stadium Truck Open. Seven classes at 6min plus 2min gap equals 6hrs (9am-3pm).
But yes, I can't for this event. See if we can get some groove on the track and some BIG smiles on faces, I know I will be.

As this is the 2011 Coleman Cup, we will be running the classes as shown on the entry form.
Still got plenty of track work to do, hopefully we get a mixture of wet and dry days over the next month so we can get everything complete to our expectations. Fingers crossed the mixture of weather is at the right dates

Twelve days to go to the first Knox clubbie of 2011, can't wait

Can't wait to make my return to 10th off road, and what a fitting event. Brendan was a competitor I looked upto as a young racer. Pity I won't get to race a meeting befor the 6thNov. I'm going to be somewhat out of my depth (lol), aslong as all involved have a great day. Top job on the track guys. Had a quick run Monday arvo. Awesome.

Agree with what Spyder Monkey said. I started racing just before Brendan passed away - I hope we all remember what the Coleman Cup represents.
I've also entered. This will be my first race after a looong break. I will be rusty to say the least
Kudos to Too Twisted and the Committee for their hard work with the driver's stand.

According to the ORRCA manual the ORRCA Victoria Drivers Series will be made up of four events (one of which will be the Coleman Cup) held at each of the affiliated clubs. The Coleman replaces the hosting clubs other major event (e.g Knox Cup, Mallee Madness) as the round counting towards the drivers series. Hope this clears it up.

What classes are you planning on running here man? Time to go head to head again!!! Haha
I wanted to run 2wd mod and stock to test the +8 chassis B4.1 and the mid mount 4.1, but don't think the rules allow it...Confirmation anyone???
