RcRenew.com engine resizing and epoxy crank re-filling
#1009
There is a lot of information on the website, but resizing the piston/sleeve is done when compression is low and weak casuing the engine to run poorly or not at all. basically resizing means re-forming the sleeve to have like new seal and compression again, which in turn will eliminate it running poorly from loss of compression.
FIlling the crank can be done to a crankshaft that previously had filler from the factory which has deteriorated and fell out. Or on engines that never had the crankshaft filled as a performance improvement. Most cranks that did not come from htefactory filled will need to be drilled out first before they can be filled with the special silicone filler. This reduces weight and allows the adjustment of crankcase volume as well to allow a quicker revving engine.
Thanks,
Lance

Stock cranks are not filled. 280-300 is a little hot, sounds like you might be a little lean. Start buy fattening the top out an 1hr or 2 and go from there........ These seem to run there best between 260 and 270. Stock or modded.......

That's what I've been doing. My clutch went bad and a friend of mines adjusted the bottom. After that, I never could find the sweet spot. I kept on fattening it, but it still ran hot.

What did he do to the bottom ? If it were me I d start from scratch. Flush on bottom and 1 and a half turns in, and flush on top and then adjust from there. Usally 1.5 turns on bottom is spot on and then you just have to lean the top for the performance you want.

Just want to ensure I understand cleary. What do u mean flush on bottom?

Yes just re-tune your needles , RE tune he top and botttom, top first. These engines will stay within the 260-270 range. If your at 290-300 the tune is off or you have an air leak somewhere.
And the stock cranks on hte Argus do not come filled(or drilled).
Thanks,
Lance

Rich, Received your Speed today e-mailed you the details.
Vincent received your New Nova 3 port port for MOd, Will ship it out Monday so the crank has some time to cure. These things are pretty weak in stock form after the mod it will be a whole new animal
Thanks again,
