Lance, "nice job" would be a very underwhelming statement

It ran flawlessly, had tons of untapped power yet to be discovered, and best of all NO Fricking Flame-outs!! I'm still running it a bit on the rich side as it's still coming in, but I was very impressed with it's first performance. Thanks for the helpful tuning tips as well, and if Frankie's impressed then I'm certainly overjoyed!! Excellent work!!

Glad you like it Kris

Im telling you the Argus is a wicked engine and modded its even better. Just wait till you get it fully broke in and leaned out

And We hear that alot about the great reliabilty. Our customers that have had other engines and switched to Argus have had better racing results, seems everyone has had less flameouts and general issues with the Argus making for more consistant racing. They are a solid and no hassle engine that are very forgiving on the tune.

It takes a lot to make them flame out.

Thanks for the feedback and good job at the races!

I not only liked it, I LOVED IT!!

In my opinion reliability and consistency are of utmost importance when it comes to choosing an engine. Sure you want it to be fast, as who doesn't like to pull everyone down the straight. But if you're constantly flaming out or have to make additional fuel stops then you've lost any advantage that "fast" engine provides. I've just switched to Argus engines from a Werks B5, and though I've not raced the Argus enough yet to give an honest overall comparison I have to say that so far it's been very impressive! I've found it easy to tune, very crisp on the low end for my truggy, and I've yet to push the upper limits but this thing already screams. You've done a wonderful job on this engine Lance!

More comparisons to follow...

Well I have put over 2 gallons on the modded Orion discovery Lance did for me and all I can say is wow what and awesome job. I have always thought that modding engines was never needed and never saw the point in it(now I have had a BIG change of heart) I got the engine back over 2 months ago and have been waiting to write an honest review when I got over 2 gallons on it. I had Lance break it in for me as well as I HATE doing it myself. Well from the moment I fired it up I have been VERY pleased it idle perfect the first time I started it and has ran great for 2+ gallons. I am not sure what he did to my engine (maybe Lance can chime in) but it has super smooth bottom end and a top end that screams, plus it is getting great run time. I was going to keep it as a backup engine but I like it so much that my Cody King Orion is now my backup!!!

Thanks again RCRENEW (Lance)

Oh and I will be writing a review on your modded Argus also as soon as it gets some more fuel through it. (So far it’s been awesome)

Thanks Kevin for the feedback! The Discovery stock is and average performer, not bad by any means but power wise and top end wise not at the top of the charts. I do a lot of work to the crankshaft, rotor timing and port timing, Compression ratio adjustment. With the adjustments made it really wakes the engine up while still being smooth and controllable. And fuel mileage is not lost and actually increases.

Thanks again ! And keep us posted on how you like my Modded Argus. You should find that it has a buttery smooth powerband with rediculous power

Thanks,
Lance

Lance.
Thanks for the tracking details parts should be back in Oz and in my hands by mid next week. Your quick turn around time will enable me to go through the run in process and have the Bonito back to race tune in time for the 4 round interclub challenge that we are holding in conjunction with a couple of other club in our area. I will post some feed back on how it goes.
Thanks again Dave

Default Argus A52 Best Bang for the Buck !!!!!

Im one of the original west coast Argus drivers and dealers. I was the very first person to run it in Nor-Cal. It has 6.5 gallons on it and still runs strong. I havnt had to replace anything. Just took it apart today to inspect things Bearings still perfect, still has some pinch and still has great compression. Only thing that needed to be done was clean the carbon off the top of the piston. Im about ready to break down and send one to Lance and let him mod it just so I can compare.........

+1 These Argus engines are Good, plain and simple

Send one in and have a MOd done to it. You have been running your stock one for a long time so You would be a Great person to compare the Stock Verse our MOD.

Pretty much even the guys who will never sway from there Brands , they even break down and give compliments on how fast and solid these engines are. Stock thye are very fast and will stand up to or even out do all the "big name " brands And with the MOD they are just Sick! Insane power with a buttery smooth powerband.

Rick, I'm now racing one of Lance's modded Argus engines and LOVE it!! I'll see you at round #5 of our NorCal Series and you can check it out. Let me know if you have any questions. If you can handle a goofy-type controller (left handed) you can take it for a test drive, but one word of caution...you'll be hooked This thing screams!!! It took a lot to convince me to switch over from that Werks B5, but so far Lance has hit it out of the park...stay tuned for a detailed performance comparison after we race on the 20th.
