Agreed! going from 2wd to a 4wd sct I was very surprised how smooth I can be with the sct. But I'm so used to point and shoot I've even started to activate the clicker on the sc10 4x4 to get that 2wd feeling...

You probably already know but keep in mind that if you change the surface you are running on will affect your speed because of traction levels. So if you go from dirt to grass you will generate heat faster because of increased resistance.

B-4 already has a lot of steering , making it longer gives up a little steering for extra stability & more consistent laps .

Make the car even longer than 8m and steering performance will suffer....

I've been thinking about picking up a b4.1 and wanted to know if the chassis lengthening is a nessesary mod (or even very recommended). Also, is there a chance that AE will come out with a "world championship chassis" that would be available as an aftermarket part?

The B4.1 is very capable without the chassis mod, but the lengthen chassis does add stability in the rough or large jumps. This will make it more consistent lap after lap. I believe AE will come out with a lengthen chassis after the Nationals. You might see team drivers running a production version of this chassis.

I just picked up a used b4.1 and velvet shocks. For the guys running the velvet shocks, did you have to change the shock oil weight at all ... going to start with the Maifield reedy setup for a base setup.

I'm also planning on building a b4.1L but don't have access to a band saw. Do you think a dremel with a cutoff wheel will work?

Thanks in advance!

The track owner doesnt think it helped my car untill I lapped him a few times I drove his car and had a sour feeling in my mouth

This applies to anyone who cut the chassis using the directions I posted...

Can use a B-4 or T-4 strap , but the back end of the strap will not be long enough to fit under the tower.

Thus why I am using a shorten Sc-10 strap ...

Can you use the T4 strap (shortened a little) using the rear strap posts? Will that work out ok?

I cut mine with a heavy duty cutting wheel on my dremel, then ground down the edges with a course grain dremel sanding wheel... then fine tuned the straight line with a flat sheet of 100 grit sand paper laid out on a flat surface.

Yep... when I cut my chassis I made my cut behind both battery strap posts so I could use the T4 battery strap. All i had to do was trim 10mm off the back of the T4 strap (just up to the balance plug hole) and it is a perfect fit. It even stretches forward enough to keep the front foam pad in place.

Just ran 5 laps in the backyard track with the b4.1Le and I added the b hub towers. What a failure, It pushed so much. I switched back, added led and will try less rear toe in so i can steer more Once i get the right setup I will post it up.
