The reason why most guys don't run LRP stuff on here is that the majority of the people on here are bashers or club racers who don't know the difference

I ran castle stuff for a long time and thought it was great. It had a ton of power and that's all I cared about

Now I run good equipment (tekin, lrp, etc) and would never go back to CC or another cheap spedo.

If you want to race and need to be competitive you need something smooth that you can control... not a light switch like the CC stuff

I've been saying that for months too. I've put well over 50 battery packs on the truck (5 races and the rest practice) for the last two months, this is my first issue! I had my belt loose at first too. Then after 6-10 packs I was hearing the skipping when breaking. Then on the weekend after about 45 packs now, the belt slipped off and took out the plastic pulley adjuster piece on the front. And only one store seems to have the part online. I ordered it and now i'm waiting. Picked up a new bearing for the pulley too since the original bearing seems to have some slop in it.

Learning from this... I would suggest you check your belt tension more often so this doesn't happen to you!

To answer your lrp question, I dunno why no body talks about it. That's all I use in all of my vehicles and lrp esc's and motors. For my sc10 4x4 im running a lrp spx8 with a lrp x12 l 5.5 550 motor and holy jesus its fast. Im the only one at my track that clears the tripple in the sc or 4wd sc class. Im thinking about going to a lrp tc spec v2 and seeing how that runs. Ill let you know how it goes when I do though. Just remember this:

My belt keeps jumping also. Tried belt loose and tight made no difference. Put new tensioner pulleys on and it lasted about 6 minutes. I ordered new belt, covers, tensioners, bearings and pulleys as the last time it jumped off the front pulley I pinned it and melted the front pulley and cover. There is about 7 of these trucks at my track and mine is the only one with any belt problems. Something is wrong just don't know what yet. Hopefully since everything between the front and rear will be new the problem will go away...fingers crossed.

How much resistance do you have in the front gear box compared to the rear? Have you rebuilt the front gear box? Anything foreign in there?

Talking Advice?

I just purchased my SC10 4x4, and I had a few questions.

I have a LRP SXX Comp V2, and I want to run a Trinity 5.5 540 can motor. Will this be sufficient? Was the SC10 4x4 designed to run a 540 can? I know it's plenty of power, and the 1/8 systems are overkill. I just wanted to be certain before I continued my build. Thanks in advance!

Been running a used TC Spec V1 w/SC4X 4.5 from the day the 4x4 came out....the ESC never gets hot and performs flawlessly. Even in 93 deg temps it is solid. My bro even ran his without a fan w/o an issue. his was used and the fan didn't work but he did add a fan because he could.

I had a Tekin 5.5 540 with the 14mm rotor in it. It was just stupid fast, fast enough that I had too much fun and forgot about time and roasted a motor and speedo, but damn was it fast. It justed walked away from my buddies RX8/4.5 550 setup. Learned my lesson and got a fan for it, and now Im running a MMM/7700 1406 4 pole Castle motor, and it's even faster than before and comes off at 140. And there is no overkill, there's just more than you can hang onto right now. Too much motor sooner or later seems like a good idea.

The sxx comp is designed for use in 2wd vehicles. I would suggest a lrp sxx tc spec v2 or spx8 for the sc10 4x4. The tc spec it designed for 4wd vehicles and I use one in my ft b44.

I was just looking at the 1406 4 poles last night. I bet your setup is really fast. 7700 has to be a ripper and then some! I'm looking for a motor with less drag, the 1410 3800 seems to have a little to much drag for where I run, it's just a little to much drag. I'm going to throw a 5700 2 pole in there to try this Friday, also bringing a 6700 2 pole just incase it's not fast enough!
