I see all this talk about belts slipping off... im running my tensioner all the way loose and the belt hasn't come off once (knock on wood) I just think its weird that so many people are having this problem... im back to my old conclusion of me heaving built my truck wrong cuz its been flawless for me since I got it months ago.

Guys....I have been researching and reading for the last 2 weeks on which SCT 4x4 I want to get and I cant make my mind up between SCTE and SC10 4x4. I love my SC10 RS after I did some suspension tweaks it seems to be pretty good now. I have read about 50 pages on this thread and a lot of good advice. From what I have read many are happy with the MMP and RX8 ESC and the 3800 CC motor. I dont read many talking about the LRP stuff....any reason why not?
I ran castle stuff for a long time and thought it was great. It had a ton of power and that's all I cared about
Now I run good equipment (tekin, lrp, etc) and would never go back to CC or another cheap spedo.
If you want to race and need to be competitive you need something smooth that you can control... not a light switch like the CC stuff

Learning from this... I would suggest you check your belt tension more often so this doesn't happen to you!

My belt keeps jumping also. Tried belt loose and tight made no difference. Put new tensioner pulleys on and it lasted about 6 minutes. I ordered new belt, covers, tensioners, bearings and pulleys as the last time it jumped off the front pulley I pinned it and melted the front pulley and cover. There is about 7 of these trucks at my track and mine is the only one with any belt problems. Something is wrong just don't know what yet. Hopefully since everything between the front and rear will be new the problem will go away...fingers crossed.

I just purchased my SC10 4x4, and I had a few questions.
I have a LRP SXX Comp V2, and I want to run a Trinity 5.5 540 can motor. Will this be sufficient? Was the SC10 4x4 designed to run a 540 can? I know it's plenty of power, and the 1/8 systems are overkill. I just wanted to be certain before I continued my build. Thanks in advance!

[QUOTE=lodhammerdin;9410394 Im thinking about going to a lrp tc spec v2 and seeing how that runs. Ill let you know how it goes when I do though. [/QUOTE]
Been running a used TC Spec V1 w/SC4X 4.5 from the day the 4x4 came out....the ESC never gets hot and performs flawlessly. Even in 93 deg temps it is solid. My bro even ran his without a fan w/o an issue. his was used and the fan didn't work but he did add a fan because he could.

I had a Tekin 5.5 540 with the 14mm rotor in it. It was just stupid fast, fast enough that I had too much fun and forgot about time and roasted a motor and speedo, but damn was it fast. It justed walked away from my buddies RX8/4.5 550 setup. Learned my lesson and got a fan for it, and now Im running a MMM/7700 1406 4 pole Castle motor, and it's even faster than before and comes off at 140. And there is no overkill, there's just more than you can hang onto right now. Too much motor sooner or later seems like a good idea.
