Well I'm pleased to say the GXII crankshaft into MG66 transplant works a treat.
One of my customers needed a new crank for his MG, so we did the deed.
He runs an Agama A8, and was running a 16T bell (normally 17) to get the launch he wanted out of the corners etc.
We fitted the GXII crank and went back to the 17T bell to try it out.
The old girl was an animal with the new crank. Buggy was lifting the front wheels no trouble with the taller gearing and still had the massive MG mid and top end power. The motor lost nothing, but gained considerable bottom end.
All in all a very satisfactory result

Great job man.

Hey guys... Just wanted to give you a heads up. Id been having stomach issues since Tuesday and got worse Tuesday night. Long story short, I had an infected gall bladder and a hall bladder stone. Had surgery last night, and leaving the hosp later today. I will be shipping pending orders tomorrow. Just didn't want you guys to think I forgot about ya.

Hey Grizz

This GX11 was SO much easier to start than the RB K10 I had to start with.
Awsome motor, now im interested in making one of these GX11-MG66 monsters as from what I have heard it was ballistic!!!

Do you have any MG66 PRS sets left.
Im thinking about getting a second GX11 and fitting the MG66 PRS in it.
How many PRS sets do you have left.

Also Thanks for helping out my mate Jono with his GX11.
Im being very carefull with the tune on my GX11 untill I can meet you and get you to show me how to tune correctley, I have about 18 tanks through it now running a bit ritch and the glow plug is around 115 Deg C.
I had Jono grab a new front bearing off you as mine is leaking a little bit right from when I prelubed it before start up. I am also getting him to get me one of the compitition Heat heaters from you when he sees you next.

I have to say the service and advise you give is awsome.
I was regretting getting the gas car when I had the RB motor now I love it more than my electrics.

He was telling me about the GX11 crank in the MG66 and im keen to try a MG66 PRS in a GX11.

Ha ha - good news travels fast . Yes it was pretty impressive on the track. It just hauled from start to finish in a big smooth rush of power.

I have several MG66 PRS sets in stock.
With that front bearing, it may be oozing a little due to the motor being rich still. If you put plenty of oil in the motor (pre lube as you did), it is also quite common for the oil to seep out of the front bearing.
If it´s just seeping out and not leaving the motor really wet underneath after you have run it, it is probably OK - still at only $15 for a new one it´s not a biggie to replace it just in case.
Do you know someone with a bearing tool to make the job easy ?

Hopefully we can catch up at the track and put a tune on that motor for you - when this bloody rain stops. At 18 tanks it is more than ready to be tweaked

Hey guys, how is the old Go 3-port R Spec with the silver case? Just picked up a buggy roller with one that is supposedly just freshly broken in...

I haven't owned one, but a fellow racer at our local track had one.
It was a much better engine than most people thought it would be. It wasn't terribly popular here in the States. I think it was because most people figured the 3 port wouldn't keep up with the 5 or 7 ports. Jerry (the owner of the 3R) said it had a smoother powerband, and that it actually revved out higher than he thought it would. You should probably replace the needle O-rings.

is it the one with blue head on it that says Go on it? i had one in my buggy a few years ago and was a rippin little engine! it like to run hotter than the newer models, about 280-300 deg but never had to worry about it. ran great at those temps and lasted 11 gallons before the throttle servo stuck wide open on the track and marshell picked it up and started walking it to me (still at full throttle) and POP. (rod snapped/broke piston).

My buddy has that motor with TKO ceramics and it rips. It has a smooth powerband so all the power can get to the ground but it has plent of grunt to clear jumps right out of corners. He also gets 10 min of run time on it.
