The Lrp is smooth, but I can get a Tekin to feel the same with some set-up changes, but running on low/med bite tracks, the softer bottom helps IMO. The real difference for me is the nearly 4 year old Rs I have in my kids SC, that runs the same updated software that the new ones run..

Default Need help choosing motor and esc for factory team b4.1

Hey guys i need a little help picking out a system for my b4.1.I was wondering since im wanting to run a 17.5 for stock spec can i use a tekin rs instead of the rs pro since im not running mod motors? My second question is what kind of gearing should i run?I run on a decent sized carpet track. Please let me know as im ready to buy to this stuff soon for the upcoming races.Thank you for any responses.

Yeah, the Rs is a perfect choice for 2wd buggy, especially for stock, although I know very little about stock spec-no boost, I assume you will need to run it in blinky mode. Some one else will chime in, in regards to that..Gearing will depend on track size..etc But I would start in the 72/28 area, and check temps to fine tune it..

If you call them and check on it after a few days you can usually talk to one of the customer service guys and they will take of it right then. They dont usually repair them, just test them and ship out another. I had an issue with one of the stock spec v1's and had it back to me within a week and a half - 2 weeks.

i've been running a tekin rs and redline 17.5 (stormer hobbies $228+ postage to Australia) in a B4. running 72/34. buggies don't really heat a motor like a 4wd, truck or SCT will. very reliable, good punch, quick( as the rest if not a bit quicker) and smooth. runs at max about 47-56 degrees C (maybe 110-130 F)

here's my times from sat night racing (5th meeting ever)
2wd Stock
Name ID# Fastest Lap
Bobcat Koimanis 40.034
Yung Wang 41.363
Robert Uljan 42.443
Shane Girdham 42.517
David Robinson 43.024
Tim Herridge 44.844
Michelle Nield 47.15
Zac Tremlett 62.721

i'm gettin the set up dialed- it's more driver learning than equipment holding me back.

most guys run a tekin speedy at my track.

Hi guys...just ordered myself an RC10B4.4 FT kit . This thread will soon become very useful I'm sure. I have a spare Hobbywing 60A ESC and 17.5 motor that I'll use with it. Can't wait to get this thing delivered and start building!

Yeah, I sent mine in for warranty, and it took almost a month. They sent me a repaired unit which I thought was a little cheesy, but I guess it's better than nothing-sold it and never looked back..

Hey brighty, welcome. I would say this for starters, post all AE related questions in here, the mods are on thread patrol, and will close threads that are opened outside this thread that are remotely related..That being said, that Hobbywing should work well, I don't know much about them, but someone in here will, are you running a stock spec class, or is boost allowed?
