Go ahead and run just the front until you get the rears, makes a big improvement.

Hondafixer, why are you asking people on here what to do? You already bought the swaybar, put it on your car and go run it! If you don't like it, take it back off. It's called testing a set-up. That's how all racers improve. I, and many others on here, have tried probably 50 to 60 different set-up changes on this truck to find out what works best for us on the tracks we run on. Some changes help and we keep them; some don't and we change back to what we had. But it would never occur to us to ask a stranger that we've never seen drive, on a track we'll never see, what they think we should try. Try everything! Then you'll know. If you wreck every lap and you can't tell what the set-up changes do...quit screwing with set-up and just practice until you can run consistent clean laps. Then you will be able to evaluate any changes you make. Just my opinion for what it's worth. Thanks for letting me vent.

I didnt think My question waranted a vent session. I understand about making changes, but sadly, I dont have the time nor am i near a track that i wanna spend what little time i have pulling parts on and off. I simply asked to see if maybe someone may have tried it so it isnt a waste of time if its proven that it dosent work. That was all. I know what sway bars do, but i dont know what results i would have if i just used one. and if u wanna rant, please quote everyone else that posted a question her and rant on their questions. thats what a forum is for , to gather info about what others may have tried or not tried.

Hondafixer, to answer the second part of your question, I have a Tekin SC4X 4.5 550 motor geared 12/62. I tried a 13T pinion, but it ran a little hotter than I'd like. Again that's on my track(big 1/8th scale) with my trigger finger. Your results may vary.

Didn't really mean to single you out. There are many people on here asking set-up questions similar to yours who aren't willing or able to do the work. But I swear to you that a set-up that works for one person may be undriveable to someone else. I've been racing for 27 years and I'm decent, but I've driven the cars of some regional, national, and even world champions and some of them I could barely get around a track. Some people are able to drive a very loose set-up and carry incredible corner speed, but to me the car was too unpredictaable and twitchy. So I learned a long time ago, to find out what works for me; I'd have to do the work. I didn't intend to insult you. If you had askedwhether you should buy the front swaybar now or wait till both are available, You could start a debate. But since you already have it, there is no question what to do. TRY IT, it takes less than a minute to disconnect it if you don't like it.

I couldn't agree more. IMO.. I think it's a part of the hobby that is the most fascinating and enjoyable aspects is to tune...Set-ups are no different then shoe sizes. I will never have the ability to be at the pro level, but I can certainly hold my own at the track.

Every time I try a "pro" set-up the thing feels broke to me...

So after 20 years doing this, I have learned what does what in set-up...but more importantly what "I" look for in balance ...

I played with the front swaybar last night @ my track. When I took a corner it would cause one of the tires to lift off the ground. I was using the 1.5 and a very soft setting. Other guys @ my track seem to like it, but personally I don't see a need for it on loose dirt and removed it after a few laps.

On another note, my Tekno hexes arrived today and they came with pins that worked just fine. The package said sc10 4x4 on it so maybe they started adding pins recently. They fit great using a .5 traxxas shim for 6mm shafts.

OK guys, ThunderbirdJunkie has some what-might-be-stupid questions for you.

The ballstuds you guys are spacing up...couldn't find it with a search of the thread, so please direct ThunderbirdJunkie to the answer if it has been covered...is it the front or rear?

The rear inside tire seems to lift first, so ThunderbirdJunkie is currently stuffing 6mm of spacers under the front inner ballstuds and 3mm in the rear. Does this seem reasonable? The inner ballstuds also seem to be disagreeing with this 6mm spacing, and ThunderbirdJunkie needs a ballstud with longer thread...is this available? Do you think 3mm on both ends will suffice?

Got the front swaybar set today....going to install that too.

Has anybody considered ditching the receiver box, and stuffing saddle packs (or Losi's shorty 60C/3800 lipo sideways) in the back of the chassis rather than having the left and right segregated?
