Devil's advocate here, you could spend $35 and get the Flysky GT3B. Quite a few "big money" racers have started using these without issue. Heck, it's less than the price of ONE receiver from every major manufacturer..... If it isn't quite to your liking, keep it as a spare or for your bashing.

Quite frankly 9 out of 10 "online complaints" I see with people dealing with issues with Spektrum radios are user/setup error in one form or another. Very rarely do I see a real viable issue with the product and its normally due to mfg. defect of one form or another(all all mfg's have defective products and batches from production runs).
, i KNOW how to setup my stuff, not saying another thing.

Sorry man, but I take the time proven stance, that my standards and practices are 99 out of 100 times are far and above what you typically find in the pits or places like these forums.
And don't take this personally either. I've seen quite a few "pro/team" drivers through the years that hurt their finish placing or outright lost races due to their poor maintenance habits and shoddy pit work between heats/mains. Including a few of the better known pro's that raced recently at one of my local tracks at RCE.

Do yourself a favor and go for the KO Propo Eurus. I had a DX3R prior to this and while it's a good radio, it's not in the same league as KO.
If that's out of your budget, look at the cheaper KO. Great radio from what I hear and the response time is just as fast as the Eurus.

Very good advice here. Some radio have a very different feel and may not work for you in terms of comfort. I would grab onto as many as you can, find what feels right and then go from there into your desired feature set.

I got a mt4 recently, I love it. I like it way better then my m11. Handles direct lipo, programable switches and failsafes, throttle offset, ALB, all the goodies I used on my m11 (expo, dual rate, arc,). It also has SSR mode which even the m11x does not have. The telemetry is just a bonus. The temp gauge was never a couple degrees off my temp gun, knowing battery receiver voltage is a huge help. 4 channel, extra grips adjustable trigger position (foward and side to side), easiest menu to operate I have ever seen.
But the best part is, its LITE! You don't even know your holding it. The m11 was big, heavy and unbalanced. Plus their is no stupid atenae to break!
Its also FASTER then the m11 according to airtronics.
Love the radio!!!!!!

OK, did you even READ or comprehend my post? Why is the MX-3X or DX3S being brought into the conversation here?
Actually your post doesn't really make any sense.
I already get the fact your "anti Spektrum" with a chip on your shoulders, but my post deals with the DX3R PRO, its pricepoint, and its comparable performance to the M11X and 4PKS at the pricepoint that might be within this person's budget.
Quite honestly I question the issues you may have even had with whatever Spektrum gear you may have owned at whatever point in time. Either that or I question the kept integrity of your equipment or install ability(like knowing the capabilities of equipment with other equipment, needed current, compatibility of materials, electronics etc and how to PROPERLY DIAGNOSE and SOLVE a potential issue)of specific items.
But while we are on the slight mention/side subject of the MT-4, I can say now after finally having some hands on with it and seeing a few of the youger folks at my track use it, that it is at best on PAR with the DX3S(which it actually targets as a direct competitor)offering a few more features, yet deifinetly having less range and even though its compatible with newer generation rx's its true response speed/resolution is basically the same as the older DX3S's DSM. Sport radio it definetly is, QC and absolute range issues issues it has as well. DSSS technology is still the best for absolute range and signal lock.

anyway man, not trying to bust your %$#@

But sport radio it is not!

Response time is definetly not faster than the M11x with the supplied rx, its actually right on par with the DX3S. Regardless response time difference between all of these 2.4gig setups is negligible and your not going to tell a difference from one to the other. You will be able to tell the difference quicker between a servo with a .08 transit time and one with .07 transit time before you will ever will with the actual tx/rx set's own response.

I don't agree with this. When I changed from the DX3R to the KO Eurus, I could tell a difference. I had to slightly adjust my driving to compensae for the difference. I was turning in just a fraction of a second too soon with the KO and hitting the inside pipe where I wasn't doing this with the DX3R. Huge difference, no, but a noticable difference. A lot of people probably wouldn't have even noticed it and I made the change on a very high traction track where any adjustment was immediately noticable. On a loose track, I could probably not tell the difference between the KO and a Traxxas AM radio.

So very funny how people are recommending $300+ radios to a guy that is self admitted "brand spanking new" to the hobby. LOL are you guys serious?
My suggestion, go with the Flysky GT3b. It costs $35 for radio and receiver. It will do 99% of what any other radio will do, at only 10% of the price! If you like it, good. If later on you think you need a "better" or "pro" radio, then go for it...you would only be out $35.

I got the mt4 for two main reasons (this might be helpfull to the OP):
light, no atenea, small easy to use.
I can fit everything with lipo and run HV
everything else i could care less about. Although it is cool knowing your battery voltage on your reciever and servos and program your failsafe
m11 had none of this. and this is lighter and faster.
for what you get, 250$ is really a bargin. I could've easily got the m11x, but i like the way the spectrums feel so when airtronics came out with one
I JUMP IN IT!
