Looking for a nice (450watt, 30amp, 12-24v) power supply. Any info on the muchmore power master world edition 2's wattage? Cause it seems like that perfect one for me and anyone else out there... if it has the power.

I use a converted HP DL580 server power supply. It puts out 870 watts or 55 amps on the 12v rail. It's nice and portable, has a handle, and well built.

The 42amp, 12v one, its rated for 514watts...yeah, the extra watts is from a lower voltage rail....


This one is pretty quiet, other server supplies can be really loud.

sorry for the no response... internet was down. I think im going to look around my work at the old computers and see if anyof the power supplies are over 500watt. If one is, then ill spray the outer shell to make it look pretty, and do this:

Im just going to connect the -24 and +24v to banana connectors and stick them through the shell.

The –12V rail on most PC supplies has a limited amperage capability. The tutorial example is only 0.8 amps. Also note the power rating is generally for the total of all of the outputs, probably can’t get the full rated power out of just the +12V output.

Try to locate a hot swap server supply. They are typically more powerful and much more stable under the sudden on/off nature of RC charging, especially at higher power levels.

I keep a hand full of 53amp 12volt supplies on hand for locals... I don't usually charge more than $45 for a unit.
