Can someone post the link to the brake disc they are using for the mod. About to place an order on Amain and want to get it right the first time. Thanks!!

Shinnbad, Ran the 10,10,7 It really worked nicely car was noticeably different. I think I will either square off at 10,10,10 or go up to 15,15,10 took 2nd this weekend. I'm still making some dumb mistakes but its all good. The car is feeling better and better each week. Not sure I'm going to run the new chassis yet I don't think there is anything wrong with old one. I am going to try the new springs though.

Thanks Again

All

scanning the last few pages to figure out what's new after not visiting this thread for a while (winter = EP ).

So new lengthened chassis, new springs - why did they went to a smaller wire? I mean, how different can a N/cm rate can be from another N/cm? I don't get it... I mean, other than making sure everyone shelfs out more cash Any educated insight?

thanks
Paul

if you have 2 springs with same wire diameter then the spring with less windings is harder. (look at the old springs).
If the distance between the windings of the new springs is even getting bigger and you want to keep the spring rate the same you need to reduce the wire diameter.

The old springs have a more liniear feel.
The new ones will feel more progressive.

Awsome, good job this weekend. You will like he new springs, I am currently running 8.0 on the front and 8.25 on the rear. Dont be affraid to go up on the diffs. it just gets funner to drive. If the track gets really rough or blown out the 10,10,10 might be a better choice. Congrats on your 2nd place and keep me posted on what you think about the springs.

ps. im indoors in IL. so dont know if the spring will be the same ones for outdoors.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say a quick hello!

Sorry I haven't been on these Mugen threads much the past few months. With so much stuff going on in my personal life with work and my family I had to take a break from the forums and racing my R/C cars. I'm a systems engineer by day and Tony's Screws is just a side business. My parents finally moved and that just about consumed me (getting their old house up to code to pass inspections, packing, moving, un-packing and then renovating their new 55+ community home). Talk about a ton of work. My dad is 83 and mom 67 so I pretty much had to handle EVERYTHING...LOL

I did take up slot car racing on week nights to get my racing fix in ...lol , but it started to get a little boring. And just like R/C the drama just bout killed a lot of the local racing. One slot car track even closed. I've finally gotten caught up with stuff at home and should get caught up with Tony's Screws later this week (I have a ton of new screw kits coming out). So this spring I'm planning on getting back out to the R/C tracks and dusting off the Mugens. Plus I should be back on here a lot more often to help out.

Best regards,

Hi there - thanks for taking a shot at it. The first part, I get. that's basic helicoidal spring theory

Can you please explain why thicker wire, less coils (thatΰs the word i was looking for!) ones will be more progressive and not simple F=kx?

thanks!

Paul

So what is the best outdoor set up for the new springs? I have the MUGE0571 for front and MUGE0575 for rear and six hole pistons.. Do you guys run a lot of rebound in your shocks ?

Hi Paul,

I will have a Mugen order going in tomorrow so I'll have all the new springs and chassis later this week.
