But I've heard of people changing from ceramic to steel bearings.
Not sure why, but they liked the steel bearings better, even though in my experience and the engines Ive seen, the ceramics will outlive steel bearings anyday.
I guess it depends on what quality steel bearings the engine maker uses.

The Novarossi steel bearings have a more durabillity than their ceramic bearings and one huge difference is the price. Yes, normally ceramics should be better, Ceramics do better with less lubication compared to steel and our engines on high revs have a critical lubrictaion where the ceramics will still run smooth and normally do not get hurt running a peak rpm on a short time (2nd part of the straight).

The ceramic bearings are lighter. Yes they have less balls in them. Yes the price is a huge difference oppose to steel. One reason people change to steel from ceramic is the care factor. Ceramic bearings do not like sitting in nitro so you have to keep the engine clean inside so they need more care.

I don't know if this applies to ball bearings, someone correct me if I'm wrong...
