I was talking about the servos that jitter while trying to center themselves. Slop in the steering bellcranks will never center very well.

burnineyes...that is EXACTLY what mine does. Will sit there and jitter (hate that noise) until I slightly move the wheel. Once centered, the servo stops jittering. AE is sending another front gearbox, so I'm wondering if the pins will seat a bit tighter than they are currently. I was thinking of added a small bushing at the ends of each pin, or just glue them in since I have the aluminum steering upgrade that uses ball bearings.

Some will just jitter no matter what you do, but I have seen grease help.
I have, or have seen, several of these cars with the same sloppy steering posts, so I doubt if a new one will be much better. Gluing them into the top plate does help. and as long as the bellcranks move smoothly you should have no problem.

Seemed to me that the pins in the hot racing aluminum steering kit are slightly smaller in diameter then stock. Thats what it seems like to me because there is some play with the pins. I think I might try a little hot glue and see if that helps.

Clay, I've verified this to be true when I tried using the stock pins instead of the ones that came with the Hot Racing kit. The pins are thinner in diameter. GRRRRR

Wow, that really sucks. The stock ones are slightly too small as it is

Good to know im not the only one going through this promblem. Sometimes I will turn one way on the track and the steering servo will stay turning even though I'm not turning anymore! And the noise that the servo makes is so loud, like you said once you turn the steering wheel on the remote it will stop jittering.

It is very hard to run the truck when you have to manually turn the steering back to center!

Mine has to be the servo, because even with the steering horn and everything off the servo, when I turn the servo it will still jitter to one way while trying to center back.

Mine did that once. The dogbone popped out of the diff cup after I clipped one a pole in the basement. My servo twitches alittle sometimes but nothing major. Maybe you have a stripped or broken gear in the servo.

Can the frame rate be turned down on the stock controller that comes from AE?

No, but it should already be a low frame rate, ideal for analog servos. For digital servos it may not give the best possible performance, but it should not cause any jitters like a high rate would for an analog servo.

Than that is probably the issue since the Savox is a digital servo. Well...I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading to a better radio in a couple of months. I'll just live with it for now as long as the servo isn't going to become damaged.

No
It wont damage the servo, but it wont work 100 percent...
