On a straight away I would put this engine up against anything and it will easily leave the competition in the dust. In a couple of hours I am taking it out for practice. I'll get 4 hours of runtime on it with S&W Trophy blend 30%. Its a small tight track which is unfortunate since it wont get to breathe much but should be awesome as far as run times go. Tomorrow is Round 4 of our Nitro KBRL, followed by a club race at night Doubleheader baby! With my Clocked JL I think Neal and John will be selling some more engines In Arizona Next week

Whats the comparison difference between the JL verse B5 and what type of quality differences between both mills.

I'll let Neal answer that question but I will give my opinion:
the B5 is better quality and has a much better carb. The JL is a Taiwan engine so I would not put it in the class of an Italian mill but Neal has told me that it has some very impressive parts quality for a budget engine. I can tell you its the smoothest engine I have ever run and after tonight I may be getting a second one. I let two people drive my buggy tonight and both of them asked what engine I had in it It revs to the moon and will pull for as long as you can hold the trigger. stock carb is so-so so I put a picco carb on it and got it all tuned up at the track tonight with my switch from Byrons Race 30% to S&W trophy Blend and it was an amazing difference in tune, temps and run times. The best I ever got out of this engine was 10 minutes on a small track and tonight I had it timed at 13 minutes until bone dry. I run an M2C 4 shoe clutch with all 1.0 springs and a JP-2 pipe. The engine just came back from a pinch by RC Renew after about 5 gallons, and it feels like brand new. I am expecting at least another 5 gallons from it. I am so happy with this engine right now I am going to try it again at The Nitro Pit next weekend. I love my B5 also but for the price and performance of the Clocked JL its a no brainer and definitely a worthy addition to anyones collection of engines.

Default b5 vs jl

Not wanting to throw stones, but the jl does respond to a better carb, factor that into the price?I have seen both mills run and they are both very strong.I will be getting a clocked B5 OR B6 have not decided yet, our season starts in june so i have a little time DAMMMMMM.

the only two things I can think of that are GOOD about winter.

1: don't have to mow lawn
2: makes me really appreciate summer.

My C6 USA is really strong in my buggy. Neal gave me a comparison dyno graph between the 2 engines. Very close. Same shape graph. That was with 192/2045 pipe on RB. JP3 and RE10 had more topend. Just some facts about the JL. If it has a downside in my opinion it would be the picco sized carbs that it uses. If that's a downside?

Well I talked to Steve S and I will be picking up a M2C Clutch and Competition Heat 12v. And will most likely will pick up a Clock B5 or Speed one off road season comes.

Neil do you have a recommendation on where I should start for setting on the M2C Clutch on a stock Ninja JX.21. The track I run on is the Edmonton RCRE. I am not sure if you remember how it was when you were there for the RC Pro race.

Thanks

Neal suggested the M2C setup for my Clocked B5 in a truggy. I ran med shoes/1.0 springs. It worked very well. Tried 1.05 springs because we had major traction that day and the stall speed was ridiculous and it caused a meltdown, lol. Hard to believe the difference between 1.0 and 1.05 springs. I might try hard shoes with 1.0 springs next in truggy. Being sponsored by answer-rc, i run the answer shoes and bells in buggy and have very good service and performance from them. The M2C does allow you to get a little more aggressive with a hot engine in truggy imo. Hard shoes with .95 is something else i will try. Of course i'm talking truggy, buggy will be much different.

Thanks, I did forget to mention I am running it in a truggy.

So Med shoes with 1.0 springs would be a good place to start with a Stock Ninja JX.21? I would say our track is Med traction but when it blue grooves during larger races it will be High Traction. Do you have any advice on what to run for weight in the flywheel? This is my first aftermarket clutch so I am trying to take in as much as possible.

Thanks again

No weight in the flywheel for truggy. Hard shoes w/1.0 springs should slip a little more. JX's come on pretty strong. I ran alot of speeds and modded v specs. Saying that i would start with med shoes, 1.0 springs.
