Got my drop down for dx3r. Very easy to mount up. Radio feels really good now, can't wait to race with it. DANG holidays!

Default CF Hyper 9E Body.

These bodies are no longer in production. The company- MoosRacing- that use to make these bodies is no longer in business making CF RC parts. I received this body just before the business was closed- very recently- and have not run it yet.

John- of former MoosRacing said he ran his for over one year but the bodies get really scratched up. The weight is the same as the stock(painted) body. At this point in time- I'm not aware of anyone making a CF body.

Default Associated RC8/RC8T motor mount

I have to admit that on my current RC8Be I have the Elite RC motor mount and I like it very much. I just picked up an RC8T CE that I'm converting to electric. The Stock AE motor mount is junk. It doesn't hold the motor high enough and thus the motor touches the chassis right near the mount. It actually causes the motor not to be level with the chassis and the mount screws bind in the mount I'd buy another Elite mount but they've been out of stock for some time and I can't get anyone from that company to respond to emails or posts on this site.

I've been looking at the Team Grid motor mounts for the Associated RC8/T and I think I'd need to go with the mount that has the inner shaft support because I currently run a 20t pinion on my RC8Be. Does the Team Grid motor mount hold the motor high enough off the chassis so the motor doesn't touch or bind? From the pictures though, I can't determine how the pinion mesh is set. I don't see where this mount has the adjustment. Can someone explain?

There is a video on post#64 that shows the motor installation and mesh set up. Our website also has the same video.

The motor is 8mm above the chassis.

We found red, black, blue does look nice but doesn't hold up as well as clear anodized. Clear anodized parts can still look new even with marks and scratches on it.

The other color hides scratches better than those darker colors is gray and gold.

Any thought or plan on a DX3S Drop down wheel? I know of many in my area that would buy it.

We looked at offering a drop-down for the DX3S at the same time when we released one for the DX3R. The DX3R has the abillity to switch from right and left hand users which allows for a drop-down adaptor to be used.

The DX3S is a one piece moulded unit where the steering unit is part of the main radio. You would need to do some hacking to make it work. Won't be as easy as with the DX3R which takes a few minutes.

Check out Amain's site. They are selling the DX3S for $239 and the DX3R for $249. Maybe a good time to move up to a DX3R.

Oh I see. Thanks for the reply. After my big race coming up I'm going to sell my dx3s and buy the dx3r then make an order to you. I'm used to my current radio so I don't want to switch right before a big race.

you may want to keep an eye on the Amain pricing. This could be a boxing day price. Everywhere else is $319, only Amain has it for $249
