Edit

For your system, LiFe is the way to go.

To bad people that state certain brands will fit don't post pictures. I've been burnt once by this lack of documentation. I do believe the marathon will work.

how much run time are you getting out of the 1100mah though? May buy 2 of those just to be safe with run time at the track.

He is referring to a Lipo overloading your Airtronics RX. LiFe is 6.6v straight off the charger, where as Lipo is actually closer 8.2 to 8.4v when you first pull it off the charger. LiFe is a no brainer and you don't have to hassle with no stinking Regulator. Heck, I don't even run switches any more

according to airtronics website the receiver that comes with the MX-3X will support 2 cell lipo. BUT I think I am just gonna stick with life cells and call it a day.

Looks like these will fit perfect but I am gonna double check measurements once my trucks built tonight or tomorrow.

COBRARACING, The Life rx pack that I mentioned will fit all of the most popular 1/8 buggie/truggies boxes. It was tested as such.

got the link for them from Tower? I cant find them on their site and I am ordering a few hundred worth of stuff from them as we speak. Might as well get it all at once.

Also...anyone know what battery pack to use with the MX-3X?

The length of the box is no more than 49mm (a dremel might give you a few extra mm) and it has some attachment bulges inside. Anyone looking at these LiFe batts with a length of 55mm, their not going to work (without some serious and ugly mods).

Also, have you considered what is gained with the Marathon and it's small mah rating? Servos will have a bit more torque because of the higher voltage, but the Marathon 1100mah means it will last a shorter time than a 1800mah NiMh battery. The LiFe battery will have less of a voltage drop at the end of it's charge and it's probably a bit lighter, which is a plus. LiPo's perform better than their mah rating because there is the voltage drop down with the use of a regulator. LiFe batteries, no voltage drop down, capacity matches mah rating.
