Team Associated TC6 Thread

Has anyone bent the TC6 arm mount bolts or deformed the plastic arm mounts using the 12R5 spacers? With the mounts being spaced so far off the bulkheads now it looks like these parts would get damaged with a hit on a wheel since there's nothing supporting the lower part of the arm mount which is where the hinge pin is installed so the arm mount assembly is acting like a lever if the car gets T-boned on a wheel. An aluminum arm mount spacer that's the same size and shape as the stock plastic spacers to better support the plastic arm mount would be a nice option part.
I don't have a TC6 yet, but they're the same design as the TC5 (which I have), and using aluminum spacers instead of the toe shims, I've bent screws, broken the mount pieces, broken the aluminum threaded inserts, and sheared the screws or a variety of that on all 4 corners. Some were board hits, some were hits with other cars.
Since I switched back to the plastic spacers and installed longer Traxxas steel screws (3x15mm), I haven't had a single issue.

Never had an issue with bent screws. Even with my old TC5.
Although in theory longer screws should resolve the issues you guys are talking about. Stay away from stainless or aluminum in these positions. Tonys screw kits are a real nice strong metal if you don't want AE screws.
I have had bent rear hinge pins in my Tamiyas.

One quick slightly off topic question:
When did Associated go to metric screws? All my other AE stuff (RC10, TC4, TC3) is standard thread. I noticed because all of the talk of using M3 taps in the bulkheads.

I didn't even put the setscrews in my CVAs. I just put a tiny drop of CA on the retainer rings to keep them from popping off in an accident. I even do this on my offroad cars and it works great. Helps free up the CVAs slightly, too.

Hey guys,
Just unpacked my TC6 and after reading this thread I’m paranoid about missing parts and unthreaded bulkheads…
After inspecting the bulkheads which all had threads, I placed the main chassis on a flat surface and I found the chassis to be twisted and rocking from side to side.
Has anyone else had this and did you contact AE for a replacement??
