Holly Cow... You should be able to pre-heat from now through Christmas

you can always give the 5000 3s a charge if you want 1hr is about what you have if you cant charge it and that is plenty of time on a race day, I run both buggy and truggy.

I just got my 12v unit. It will get the ultimate test over the next few months. This is our 'indoor' season(outdoor in a covered barn), so it will have to preheat a car in 30-40 deg weather. I'll report back on my luck with this unit.

very very important!! be sure to put a low voltage cut off switch on your 5000mah lipo or it will damage the cells if the voltage drops too low.

Sounds like fun (covered barn) What track is this might I ask?

If the track has 110 you probably would have been better of with our AC Comp Heater, just plug it in and you can pretty much forget about it until your ready to fire it up.

If the condititions are going to be that cold I would recommend a 5000 mah battery for longer pre- heating.

The track is in Antioch, Ca. Delta RC

I tested it today. I just ran it off the PS for my chargers, and it worked like a charm. I was able to preheat my cars, and they lit off with just a slight tap on the starter box, comapred with 5 min of fighting with them in years past. I'm sold. This is probably the best investment I have made in a long time. I think I even sold about 6 of them from all the people who came by to check it out.

If your on the fence about getting one of these, spend the money and get one. It's money well spent.

Same here....had a race yesterday in high 30's, with a slight drizzle all during the first heat (the rain started coming down heavy after we finished round 1 and we had to call it a day, but that's another story).....

When I got to the track and got set up, I put my heater on, and just went about my business of helping with registration, goofing off, etc... I could hear guys all around struggling to get their motors fired up for practice. When I had a few minutes, and wanted to burn a tank to make sure the truggy was right, one quick little bump and mine was purring like a kitten.

I even had one of the local pros come over and ask to borrow my heater. He said his motor is a bear to fire up when it's cold, no problem when using the heater....hopefully, we got another convert yesterday.

Heck, I even found a another good use.....my fingers were freezing at one point, even with my marshalling gloves on, so I just grabbed the heater while it was on my motor. Got my fingers toasty warm in no time!

This is of course my favorite quote. For those that have not tried our Comp Heaters, you must try one to really see the difference for yourself, not only how effortless the motors are to start but to tune as well, not to mention the money it will save you down the road from having to replace the rod and possibly the crank. I will not mention names, but at the Fawl Brawl we had one of the top Pro's in the world there racing and he himself said these things are bad a$$, and wondered why he had not tried one sooner. For him, the advantage was having the engine ready to tune and knowing where the engine was when he fired it and hitting the track ready to race.

I am obviously not the pro you are referring to LOL....but I also purchased one at Fall Brawl. I had a new motor that was Very Tight. I had been looking at the Comp Heats, but never thought I really needed it. Anyway, I purchased on at the track, and quickly found out that I had been missing out. I used it one time and another racer (had the same new motor) was so impressed he went to buy one. I told him they only had one left and he about broke his neck trying to run to Comp Heat LOL. Very cold weekend and my motor stayed at 180 to 188 outside on a table. When time to race, I started it up, checked my tune and was ready. Very impressive! Thanks for suppling us with a Great Product.
