Heard that before...

My suggestion?

Disallow those with snouts, curly tails and cloven hoofs from racing.

Spike:
You are one heck of a race director. Your skill and humor are rare to find. I probably speak for most if not all of the racers when saying "thanks"

Yeah Spike you do just fine. Exect when posting results on here. It's all the slow slackers getting out to marshall. The table idea would be great if we had more room. If you leave the area you lose a lap. No execptions. Would be nice.

Whoa...Whoa...

This isn't on you Spike, my comment was...

"Spike spends 1-3 or more minutes between almost every round waiting for us to get out to marshal, or, waiting for the next round to check in."

There is nothing you can do, this is our responsibility as racers. My whole point was, that if we have a desire to get out earlier, it's our responsibility to get out to race sooner and marshal sooner - the race director has no responsibility in those regards.

Frankly, I like the start time as it is. I can almost have a quick early dinner with the family if I so choose and be at the track by 5:30pm - kind of like that option. Heck, I'm falling asleep at 8:00pm anyway - nothing anyone is going to do about that.

To restate my point. If we are concerned about getting done earlier, we could all be (myself included) a little less casual about getting out to marshal or getting out to race. I think that is an easy win for everyone.

You do an awesome job Spike and the club is lucky to have someone that is even willing to take on directing.

There is nothing you do, or don't do that I would change.

Spike,
I Agree that you are a very good race director.
Keep up the good work and have fun with it-the racers will get on the ball and more heads up about checking in and marshalling if they want to finish earlier.
The only other solution is less races per round(stack the heats 8-10 per race) that gets a bit hairy with that many on the track at once.

That's o.k. Matt. I was refering to a couple pages back when Spike made some mistakes on results.

I think at the meeting the club should discuss giving Spike a raise. No one wants to do, he does a great job, no one wants to do it, the club is doing great, and no one wants to do it.
