I toss all pull-starts in the trash and buy a roto-start backplate. All you need then is a cordless drill and boom, no more broken pull starts.

Counterproductive for Amateur tuner's who are constantly needing to restart the car due to Stalling from being upside down of flaming out from a Poor tune.
On the other hand us Racer's who Can tune a motor and would like to remove a Spinning piece of steel inside the motor that is essentially a Giant Air leak and Causes issues as you have yourself experienced.....a Starter box is By far the best solution....yes its an extra piece of gear to lug around, But your already lugging out your starter wand, Fuel bottle, glow driver and so forth....So really 1 extra item isn't going to kill you.

I have 5 buggies. All with rotostarts. the extra 3 seconds it takes to line a shaft up to the slot is about the same amount of time it takes to line a car up on a box, press down and hope it starts. Buying a 90 dollar box to do the exact same thing my drill I already own with a 5 dollar wand from my LHS, is, and say it with me, COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.

If you are so worried about weight that a 2OZ hunk of steel is spinning in your engine, maybe you are taking this to the extreme.
To each his own. You want to carry around a starterbox, knock yourself out. I doubt he's racing a Revo anyway.
