People who are having or had dogbones pop out read this!
This past weekend was the byrons offroad champ at the pit. in my second qualifer i was on my way to lock up a position in the amain when my dog bone popped out. I took it back to the pit, tore the whole rear end apart, couldnt find any issues, i handed the truck to the losi drivers(chris wheeler, and billy fisher, Btw thank you very much) and billy noticed my rear diff was shimmed wrong which was allowing my diff to move a tiny bit back and forth, this caused premature wear on my outdrive. I replaced my gear box case which got damaged by the dogbone as well as new outdrives and put the alum inserts in, and shimmed it correctly. No more issues. my truggy looked like everyones who have posted pics about the dogbone popping out, if u have this issue make sure your diff is shimmed correctly. Mine was a brand new truck and just started to break in and i never checked it.
Just a heads up. for future reference. btw after fixing that i qualifed 8 in the a main. lead the a for about the first 8-10 min.then started loosing traction as well as letting the pressure get to me. I finished 4th. wish i could of made podium but i did end up getting 3rd in the amain in buggy tho

I just got back from our 3 day Nationals event, the truggy was performing flawlessly all weekend untill the semi final when about 20 laps in the rear diff went. I was expecting a case full of stripped gears by how it felt but today when i pulled it apart everything looks fine. I dont fully understand what has happened, is it something like the case has deformed slightly causing the gear mesh to open up? I have put some of the alloy case inserts in and moved one shim from left to right on the diff, put it back together but is still not exactly smooth. Do i just keep shimming till it gets better or is there some tricks to all this. Disappointing as things were going nicely till the diff went

On these losi cars its very difficult to see the bad spot ring gear. I have Fred many times. Ican say that when it goes replace the r/p and case all at the same time. You have to look very closely to see how it's wore.
