I used to use a 2035, it will work and scream just fine, virtualy any pipe will do the job till you get the 2013 or 2057. This eng. at least for me it is so good that will work with almost anything.

If anyone wondered where the weak point in the b5 rod is, it's the narrow point right below the top hole/bushing for the piston wrist pin. Turns out that if your clutch nut backs off and your flywheel becomes loose while going down the straightaway, your motor arranges a nice demonstration of this fact.

That can be a weak point in any engine, the problem was no loctite in the clutch nut. No engine weakness.

Just wanted to jump on here and give some info on the new line of Werks engines. I send all of my engines off to get mic'd and broken in by a friend of mine in Louisiana. Needless to say this man is amazing. He checks the straightness of the rod, has a bore gauge to check the roundness of the sleeve as well as measuring the piston to make sure everything meshes perfectly.

Well have he has done 3 motors for me, (2) B6's and (1) B5 he has come up with this information for me, These motors are amazing. The quality and the craftmanship in every single engine is second to none. He also stated that all of the sleeves were perfectly round down to .0006 of an in. The rods were perfectly straight and no correcting was needed.

After he told me all of this he went out and purchased a B6 because of the massive powerband of this engine.

So needless to say these motors are phenonmenal. Great work Ron.

Thanks again,

Marcus Black

+100

I also think these engines are top notch...the consistency of their production is excellent...the fitment of the piston/sleeve is phenomenal and very consistent motor to motor..... I have a high number of modified B5's out running right now, making over 40% more power then stock, and have yet to have 1 single engine failure..nothing, nadda....these engines are overbuilt and proving to be extremely durable, even when we are pushing the lomits of performance.... Great work Ron !

Wasn't saying it was a motor weakness, just thought it was interesting how the rod snapped in the rod portion, not in a bearing portion (like it didn't stretch the bearing apart). Obviously having the engine at WOT with zero load, including no flywheel, is not the engine's fault

Honestly never tried it but the bore and stroke are different so I would say no.

true not the motors fault but you are right. most motors I have seen thhat reved like that snaped the rod at the crack pin. Just goes to show you that the werks motors and rod bushings are tuff as hell

Was anything else damaged??
