Yes please please heat cycle it 4-5 times or more and always heat it before you start it.

Check your servo saver. It needs to be very tight.

Check your ride height. Ride height is essential on the losi cars. 39mm front and 42mm rear. You have to make sure you're setting ride height at the track on race day. Even a slight difference in ambient temperature can change your ride height. Half tank of fuel, and everything on the truck ready to go.

How's the tire situation? Is it possible that this problem is coming from running the wrong tires for your surface? Tires are the single biggest factor in setup.

What shock pistons and oils are you running? What's your droop setting front and rear? Give us some more info.

I know it has been suggested to try the short ackerman. That may or may not help you. The short ackerman will give you a bunch more turn in off power, but may not help with on-power steering.
OK guys, my original question is on pg 590,I've checked the truck and all my info is on the setup sheet attached, also the part of the the track thats giving me fits is in the picture attached , the track runs in the opposite direction in which the tractor is facing.the S turn behind the tractor and the double S's leading to the 2 double jumps on top of the picture, If you can give me ideas as to what I can change to get more onpower steering to get thru these two sections I would greatly appreciate it,thanks.

Couple big things I see wrong... DITCH the aluminum chassis braces. Ditch the RTR chassis. The TFT chassis will help a bunch. V2 rear shock tower would really be beneficial. I will post my setup in a minute.

Yeah it is not really even close to the Drake setup.

I like the feel of fresh 2k in the rear. Problem is by the time the mains come around at a big race, it no longer feels fresh. I run the 3k, and by the time it is worn in it feels like fresh 2k. That's my experience and silly reasoning.

Rotarynut... After reading the tire section on your setup, I see that you are running "standard size" rims. By standard size do you mean maxx size vs. LPR size? If so that could be part of the problem. That size hasn't been standard for a long time, and for good reason. That tire setup will be nowhere near as nimble/precise as the newer LPR/VTR size setups.

Not to mention that even LPR sized rims rub on the arms of this truck some. I can't imagine that you're getting full lock with the shorter maxx sized rims. That could be your issue right there.

Lose the alum chassis braces and 12 degree spindles. I believe the 12 degree spindles give you less turn-in. Go back to 39mm ride height in the front. You may also want to try a 2.0mm front sway bar.

If your truck still pushes, try letting off the gas in the corner.

i really find that the lower front ride height helps with turn in. it allows the weight to travel forward harder and put a lot of grip on the front of the truggy

i run the front camber links at 3/B, up on the tower and out on the hub. since changing to that setup i haven't suffered any push through the corners. extra front toe out helps aswell
i also found that alot of push comes from the rear of the truggy. if you have too much rear traction the truggy will push badly

heres the setup i have run for awhile now.

TIX,

Have you tried the short rear link (1/A) set-up? It seems to give the truck much more corner speed. Rotary, I also suggest you try the short link set-up.

X2 the short link will make the truck rotate a TON more. I've been running that link setup for well over a year now, and I couldn't be happier.

Thanks to all for your responses, gonna start making some changes, first with the inexpensive ones, then the ones with $$$ involved. Jammincrazy you mentioned the tires/wheels but beleive it or not at first I was using PL Crimefighter LPR's then switched to JC double D's w/maxx wheels and it drove much, much better but still pushing the ft thru mid corner and exit under power. Oh! BTW when I stated that I had Drakes set up I said "basically"which meant it had some changes otherwise I'd have said "exactly",

Usually when we talk about something "basically" X setup, it has a few changes. Yours has MANY changes. I don't doubt that, that is part of the problem. I would go back to a more standard setup and try again. Something's obviously not working on your setup.

As for the tires, the improvement in your handling most likely came from the tread of the tire, not the size. You really need to stick with LPR sized tires. The old Maxx sized tires will make any truck feel sluggish. DD's and Crimes are VERY different treads. Maybe try some half up DD's or some VTR Holeshots. Ask around at your track(s) and see what guys are running. Your issues may all be coming from tires. Tires are the single biggest element of setup.

Please, whatever you do, get rid of the aluminum chassis braces. Everyone runs the plastic braces for a reason. With the aluminum chassis braces(especially coupled with the RTR chassis) you are removing a ton of chassis flex... Not a good thing to get rid of.

Tryed it, Hated it. i understand that alot of people love that setup but its not for me. I spoke to Casey about it to some length back when him and Billy were working on it and he rarely use it anymore either. just the shock location and sway bar change at times.
that setup was designed to make the truggy drive more like a buggy. id rather my truggy drove like a truggy
It made my truggy push real bad off power. i had to ride the breaks right into the corner to make the back swing around.
everyone i know here that has tryed that setup has changed back to stock

its the front roll center and camber gain setup that gives me so much steering
all i do is tune the amount of slide i want from the rear with the swaybar, shock location and spring rate. at the extreme i change the diff oil back to 2K
