I just hit the 1.5 gallon mark on mine. Running a JP-1 pipe, minus one head shim and Werks 30% fuel. It really came to life my last outing. It surprised me running with all the other mills out there no problem. Track was small and technical, ideally should have installed a 52T spur. I ran my normal 48T..Nobody could out pull me still! Ambient temps well at 100F, humidity miserable. Track was really hooked up. I tuned it to the ragged edge, then backed off my throttle EPA. Solid 12 minutes runtime @ 250F.Not bad considering the weather. I don't tune for temps anyways, just a habit to check it. I had a guy comment when I fired it up before a qual..said it sounded like money! lol... ERCM mod is really shining. Engine is so smooth and strong. No wear on internals yet. Time for ceramics though!

Well my JL passed the six gallon mark. Time to
throw some ceramic bearings and a con rod in
it. It's still running like a monkey with it's ars on
fire. I sure am glad that I didn't play fan boy and
switch engines for the ______ line of engines offered
to me. I have ran against two of the now and the
JL pulled them every time. The bearings really don't
need replacing, but I have had O.S. engine bearings
that didn't last much more than two gallons. The
front bearing on this engine hasn't developed a
leak yet. I own alot of different nitro engines and
never had a front bearing last this long.

JL motor worked great for me. I'm a club racer and race every weekend. The pinch went out at 6 gallons. I ran this engine hard and never had a issue. Ray A pinched it last week and I just got done rebreakinging. The head has some scuffs but this motor Rips! I wasted big $$$$ on motors In the past and will put my JL at the top of the list. It's the Mustang of motors as I see it. For the price you will dono better.

I like your good tales about the engine, I would like to do a show on the Jl engine with person testimonials on how good your engines are running on time, lifespan, powerband and quality controll. Send them to me at [email protected] with your name so I can read out your report, I run the JL also and was so reluctant to run the engine until it just ripped with power, now it's hard to run a Picco engine when guys say that engine is something else. When I do the show I will post it and if there's something you would like to have on it like an adjustable venturi then say it, the boss runs the show behind the camera with me so he'll here it. It could be an option or a future JL-2

Double O rings on both needles and better O rings would make it perfect.

I was under the impression that the JL and Killer9 motors were Picco based. I know the only carb that seems to fit is the Picco motors. Only thing I would change on these motors would be double orings on both needles and adj carb for the JL, but I got the K9 so I got the adjustable venturi option. Great motors IMO and I have killed a lot of Speed motors with my "budget" motor. Just don't change the powerband...best part about these motors.. do I qualify for a testimony running the K9? I pushed it to the limit with no rebuild so I can tell you exactly what failed and when and all the good stuff.

as long as it keeps the same needles ...its just so easy to have a good tune w/ this motor...

+1 on venturi's or i will mill out my own carbs for a rear ceramic

maybe 2 versions
