I will be honest with you Ron, I liked your other clutch too. That is what is installed on my Mugen right now but when I saw this, I jumped all over it. With the Losi clutch, no matter how I shimmed it or what collet I used I could not get spaced right so that when I tightened down the very last screw the bell sould spin freely or if I did then it wouldn't line up to the spur properly. With your old clutch, no problems and I don't expect any with the new one and am very excited to get it in the mail. I really loved the Losi 4 shoe clutch that much. But that is just me.

really ? i never had a problem, with the losi clutch setup lineing up with the spur i always had it right in the middle .

yea i am seriously thinking, of getting this clutch i mean no clutch pins to mess with = less time during race day !

i think having the cutouts, on werks flywheel is smart espially if your running a all alum clutch setup they get hot !

Thanks for picking one up! The new clutch is really neat and I'm sure that you are going to love it! Please let us know what you think once you get it in!

Ron

So what weight would you use for engines with a big low end hit like a B5/2013 combo in a truggy? Medium or heavy?

Not messing around with clutch springs etc, is one of the true advantages of this clutch. That and I think the ability to quickly change your flywheel weights and hence your engines power delivery opens up a whole new realm of tuning capabilities!

Regarding the cut outs, those are present on the medium one to reduce the weight of the flywheel. The light and heavy flywheels are solid (as in do not have nay cutouts) but I can tell you that you will not have any issues as far as overheating with our clutch. That is generally caused by aluminum shoes slipping too much, basically because of the wrong choice of springs and/or shoe weights. Again though ours is a complete clutch system and everything is really designed to work with each other avoiding that type of problem.

Ron

Ron, just over 10 more days and I will be home. 7 long months about to come to a close. As soon as I get there, a B5 with this clutch is going in. I was thinking of getting you light version for the B-6. What are your thoughts? I know the medium will work fine with the B-6 but dang it, you went and gave us all these options.LMAO Seriously though, thanks for all that you do for us. TC5MAN.... I see where you were going with that and I like it but since the man himself said no worries then I am not going to worry about it.

For a B5/2013 combo I'd go with the medium weight Pro Clutch system. This is going to smooth out the bottom a little and with the shoe weight that we have combined with 4x 1.0's you will be dialed! (I should also mention that each clutch system comes standard with 4x ea 0.9's, 1.0's & 1.1's. So when you get our clutch it also includes the full range of springs tonsetting it up to your liking! And because of the way the clutch assembles you can change them in second without destroying them like with a normal clutch!)

Hey devilsquid, glad to hear that you are comic home and that you made it back safely! Regarding the clutch for the B6 I would go with either the light or medium set up. These two will cover you for about 90% of the track conditions! If your tracks are grooved or good traction go with the light Pro Clutch, if they have some fluff on them or are a bit blown out go with the medium Pro Clutch. Hope this helps and again welcome back and thank you for what you are doing for all of us!

Regards,

Ron

I'd go for the light weight Pro Clutch system with that engine and start with the 1.0's if you need more punch just go up to 2x 1.0's and 2x 1.1's and you should be dialed!

This clutch is awesome I was finally able to run a race with it tonight and I am impressed. I'll be replacing my other clutches with it and I prefer the medium in truggy with the B5 2013 it helps reduce the wheel spin.

Awesome, I'm glad you liked it! I think that we are on a roll right now as far as development for true racing products! First the B5 which is an awesome general purpose engine at a great price point. Then the B6 which I think is in a class of it's own when it comes to run time and performing especialy at it's pri e for the serious buggy racer. Plus the "2010" versions of the 2013 & 2057 pipes with their great performance and durability! And now I think we have one of if not the best, most versatile clutch system on the market with our "Pro Clutch" to boot! Again glad you like it and thank you for choosing to use our products!!!

That's pretty logical, afterall I've never hidden the fact that we did work with them to make it If you are tuely familiar with their clutch you will have noted some significant differences one of the most obvious of which should be that we offer 3 different weights of flywheels. Then you will note that the clutch shoes on ours are also different. The coating is different, the flywheels are different, the materials that the flywheels are made of are different, the shoes are different etc. etc. etc. At the end of the day what you are left with is that we both use the same method for assembling the clutch (which is brilliant and I'm not sure how you could improve upon it) but none of our parts are compatible with theirs. Zo is het echt hetzelfde???

Mo Denton showed me all 3 versions here at the CRCRC Ohio State Fair Race.

I can honestly say that these are machined very very nicely. The fit and finish look heads above what I was even expecting.

Nice Job Werks. I will be ordering some along with the 2057 pipe this week.
