RB Concept Engine Thread..

So Chris being in Colorado and I'm from Colorado, Denver area, and not finding the 2045 pipe setup in the budget, would you suggest the next best choice is the RE10? This is for the Killer 10. Is the 086 pipe a choice also? Or which of the 2 would you go with? Also what glow plug are you recommending? I'll be running 30% Byrons fuel. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Hey man, I am actually in Longmont as well. I have never ran a K9 or a K10 so I would listen to Maximo on this as he has modded and worked with a lot of them. Try your JP1 and see how you like it, since we are at such a high altitude the JP1 may give you some extra grunt you loose from the altitude.

The biggest thing I can suggest is possibly changing the gearing on the car. The WS7 is a top end motor and will feel like it lacks bottom end in many applications. I have used a stock WS7 and it was great but I changed the gearing from a 48 tooth spur to a 50 tooth as the two teeth on the spur is less dramatic than one tooth on the CB.
Other than that just tune the engine like normal, make sure it sings real good down the straight away, then tune the LSN so the car accelerates real well and can sit and idle for 3 or 4 seconds without loading up.

That pipe your using isn't the best pipe for that engine, go with the RB 2045/192 header if you can, I have the the Nova Rossi 9886 pipe on that engine to, it works well, but not like the 2045.

Hello engine gurus - I need some help
I have a new (1.5 gallons) Killer 9 and I can't get it tuned, I have tried everything. It will not idle properly, it always sounds too rich on the bottem (revs real high then drops off). I can lean it out on the bottem to get it to idle better but then it starts to lean bog on acceleration this is usually at 1 to 1.5 turns out. I tried backing everything to factory settings and starting over but then it is so rich it will not even start.
I am running a novarossi 5 plug and 25% byrons and I am at my witts end. I figure it is probably a carb defect but wanted to know if anyone else had any ideas.

thats the same problem im, having no matter what i do i cant get the bottom end to get leaner i even turned the idle up to stop the engine from loading up at idle. and i turned the low end about 1/2 turn and more same thing.
and it will flame out too because of it on the track.
i think its just because its, still new and im almost throw a gallon.
im running ebmods 20 % with a #100 odonnell plug.
im running the rb s5 engine.

Word of advice the rubber o ring on the carb take that off and put on http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...or-Base-O-Ring That will help alot that stock o ring is terrible and not novarossi - rb quality. My K9 runs like a bat out of hell with a little over a gallon
really thanks is that the reason why its doing that ?
il try out that o-ring

i knew something was wrong , i never had a problem with my nova .21 bf with tuning the low end even at a half gallon or more.
i do have some nova carb o-rings will they fit ? does the stock ones on the rb swell up or something.

The K9 is real thin and worthless IMO your 21bf should be thicker and hold a seal better.

Soon as I changed that o ring it ran like a champ. I also use 97t odonnell plug
