Thanks for the replies guys.
I bought mine when they first came out. It's seen a LOT of use, probably over 10 gallons. The ramp plates, the plates that ride on the bevel gears, and the gears themselves all look great. Running with two .15 springs, so engagement is fairly early.
I've been doing the grease about every gallon (using the SmartDiff grease). It always comes out looking like new, and I've never had it go dry before (I pack it pretty full). Even if it did need to be changed, I have trouble seeing how bad grease would cause a gear to fail the way mine did... There was still plenty in there, and it was still the same color it came out of the tube. The failure appeared to be more of a fatigue type failure, where one tooth chipped off first (has a rough, angled break), and the rest followed.
As far as getting rid of it, up until this point, mine has been rock solid. I took it out for a practice session, but put it right back in. I like the feel much better than the stock diff with 10k. Personal preference thing, I guess. There are other drivers at my track who prefer the standard diff in the center.

i do it too on my eight-t 1.0 and, had no problems but sometimes if you land weird and slam on the throttle it can be hard to control.

it should be in your 2.0 t manuel, try green/gold all alum clutch setup and see how you like it . im running that clutch setup and its smooth but it does tend to all the sudden shoot off like a rubber band .

the green / gold clutch spring, setup doesnt seem to have a lot of punch too me on my truggy.
i would try a all gold setup on, alum shoes i might go back to that setup.
hows your low end on you engine is, it too rich on the bottom i might just lean my low end out more and try
on my.

you shouldnt try to get your clutch tighter just cause your motor is sluggish!...sounds like the low end is too rich!...when the truck is off the ground the motor should be rreeeeaaalllyyyy snappy!...if it lags, then its your bottom end!

No my bottom end is fine. I think the reason that it is sluggish is because it was engaging late. Now I have 2 Aluminum with Gold and 2 Plastic with Green because the losi manual said that that is the best compromise for punch and mileage.
By the way I was talking about how it was sluggish when my truck is on the ground. Sorry I guess I should have put that in there

thats why man the alum/plastic, clutch setup defietly wont give you any punch on a truggy
just try gold/green alum shoe setup.
