Got the first engine on the break in stand, fired right up and idled forever. Typical Werks engine!

Brad

Lol, guess it's the pack mentality! One person gets one first and then everyone has to have one!

Default b6 help

we have a b5 and b6 . the b5 is perfect . but the b6 with only 2 races we can not get it to idle right sometimes it is good for a minute and then leans real bad . and on the track it stays at high rpm in the air then when we fill in the pits it bogs and stalls . we bought a new fuel tank , siliconed the carb still with no luck . we also have tried both pipes 2057 and 2013 . we would appreciate any help possible .

Sounds suspiciously like an air leak, even with your corrective measures. Have a look at the back-plate to make sure you're not getting a leak from there. The only other 2 things I can think of would be to take the carb apart and check the O-rings, and then lastly check to see that there aren't any cracks or defects in the crank case.

Need some additional info, does it have a high idle when cold or does this only happen after the engine comes up to temp.

Also, how much of a gap are you running for idle? It should be half the size of a credit card. Where are your needles positioned also?

By the looks of your picture you are running a Losi 8ight, is this correct?

Brad

I'd go a little bit less, roughly half the thickness of a credit card.

I stand corrected! AGAIN!

Ron you must have been one of those mathematical geniuses in school or something. I don't think I've ever met such an educated person on nitro engines!

Would it be possible if any to just buy the manifold for the 2013?

Default b6 help

we tried everything . finally checked the last thing possible as suggested by local racers . we put the piston at top dead center and removed the back plate and as suspected by the local racers the back bottom of the piston has a chunk missing causing the motor to lean . the piece was ground up by the motor causing other internal problems . we really liked the power and smoothness of the b6 . we ran the b5 tonight , it ran great as always. great motors we must have just got a bad one . would still recommend the b6 as a top choice . Thanks for all the suggestions you guys are a great help .

The only way that the back bottom of the piston skirt can get a chunk broken out of it is really by not having the piston at top dead center when removing the back plate. Is it possible that this happened?

Ron

That's a strange one then because over the years that's the only way that I have seen the skirt break. In any case you have a couple of our engines and I appreciate that! Todays the 4th and I'm planning on having some fun so today the only thing I'm going to be operating is a BBQ grill lol! Just send me a pm tomorrow and I'll swap it out with a new one for free. You have a lot of choices when it comes to engines and I want to thank you again for choosing to use our products! Have an awesome 4th of July!

Regards,

Ron
