Hi i from Venezuela i have a go 5 port silver head how many shim can i use for the 3000ft of altitude i use 25% fuel and p3 glowplug my runtime is 5min 6min with luck and i re tune everytime i go out the engine onli have 2gallon

Crank should be fine. Just check that area where the coating has come off and make sure it's nice and smooth. There is a very fine tolerance between the crank and crankcase where that section of the crank sits, so it needs to be smooth.

Run 1 x alloy .3mm shim and 2 x copper .1mm shims for a total of .5mm.
This is factory standard and sweet for 25%. I would run a medium temp plug on 25% (O'Donnell 97T or similar), just my preference (might be better at that altitude too - maybe a little more run time ?, not sure).

Try .75 turns in from flush on the top, and 1.25 turns in from flush on the bottom. This will be in the ball park, probably a little rich which is good to start with - tune from there.

Is GO-PRO the same engine that you guys are talking about. If not how are the GO-PRO engines?

Yes a 7 port piston and sleeve will fit in the .21 sport block. You will give up a little power because the sport block doesn't have the milled slots above the rear bearing for flow. Also the sport block uses a 14x 25 rear bearing instead of the 14x25.4 but it will work fine.

After 2 weekends with the new Rw mods 5 port I am really impressed. The timing change really gives it the top end of a 7 port. I am running it in a buggy and it is really fast and smooth. The best part is the internal restrictor really improves mileage. It's the second weekend in a row I was using a 1/2 tank of fuel in a 5 min qual, with the warmup lap it was probably close to 7 minutes. I am not one of those guy's that is really smooth on the gas either, I typically have a 1/4 tank or less left after a qual. Yes. The GO Pro Series is the motor being discussed on this forum (mainly the GX Series which is the latest model in the Pro range). The GX Series is available in 3 Port, 5 Port and 7 Port versions. There is also an older .25 Pro Series model as well.

You may also hear mention of the 3 Port Sports Series, which is more an RTR motor and is available with pull start if required in .21 and .28 versions - (a great performing motor for the price).

I saw a couple on e-bay and I was looking at them since I'm picking up an RC8T CE on Thursday. I am on a budget so maybe I'll have to get one.

Value for money they are hard to beat. Wicked performance !! Lots of back up on here too. Truggy, go the 5 Port for sure. You will be impressed with the bottom end grunt of this motor. Buggy, go the 7 Port or 3 Port (3 port is a smoother motor ideal for small tight tracks). The 7 Port has insane top end and is ideal for buggy on a standard sized or bigger track.
The 5 is also great in a buggy if you gear it and get the clutch right. Pretty strong bottom for a buggy though - not for the faint hearted. Rex (22Racer) has come up with a mod to tame the beast a little and make it more user friendly

Which one of these would work best in an RC8T CE? I know a 5 port was recommended but I was assuming that was a .21.
