Could it also be the weather? Certain plastic will shatter if you put any stress on it in the cold...

Dang! 3 wow!

I know there are aluminum chassis on the market. Don't know if that's an option for you but might look into it.

Hmm. I've got the Proline suspension kit too. I just broke my second chassis in the same spot.

Proline makes a chassis brace for that kit. I don't have the link, but I would imagine it's on their site.

Go to Pro-lines site, they have a plate to reinforce that area to fix the problem. On my phone or else I would get you a link.

by chance, are you guys running the rpm rear skid plate that goes from the chassis to the transmission case? locally people were breaking chassis in the same spot because they switches to the rpm and did not put the extra screw in that goes through the chassis and into the skid. they put the screw in and the problem went away. just a thought for you guys. i ran the pro-line kit and didn't have an issue, but i only ran it for 4 runs before i sold the car.

From past experience, all Traxxas chassis are prone to breaking, so to save money replacing them, I bought a Fastlane Machines aluminum Stampede chassis (which is what the Slash chassis is based off of anyway) and just bolted on the transmission, a-arms, ect. The only problem I found with this conversion was with the side nerf bars - the Traxxas ones don't fit/work. I solved this problem by getting some nerf bars from a Losi Strike and after a little dremel work, they fit perfectly. Now my truck is basically bulletproof.

And BTW - Fastlane Machines also makes an aluminum replacement chassis for the Slash too.
