Default Problem with Futaba 3pmx

I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me. I am in the learning stages of RC and I bought a 3pmx so I wouldn't have to mess with crystals at the track. Well I tried to hook it up to my slash which is completely stock and I can't get the throttle to work right and it seems to be a setting I have way wrong with the million features this thing has.

At the current time the steering works but I can't get any throttle whatsoever in forward or reverse. I was messing with all the settings last night and was able to get the throttle to work but when i pushed forward on the trigger the truck went forward and when I pulled it the truck went backward and the throttle was not reversed in the settings. Well I went through all my connections to the servo and esc and they are right and i used the stock tx and rx and everything worked correctly so I am pretty sure it is a setting I have messed up.

Can anyone with this radio tell me what they have their settings at? Or point me in the right direction as to what I could possibly have messed up?

Sounds like all you need to do is to reverese the direction of the throttle channel. See pg 49 in your manual and follow the directions. This will make it go forward when you pull the trigger and brake when you push. You need to do this wioth some setups, its a matter of trying it and if its backwards, then reversing the channel.

Hopefully you have not messed something else up....

Last night when it was reversed I went through the things outlined on page 49 and the throttle setting was not reversed. At the moment I am not getting any throttle at all. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Either you didn't do exactly what the directions said or you had changed something that overrides reversing the channel at that point. Go back thru the Preparations starting on page 25 and make sure you haven't changed one of the Throttle settings like the ATL. Reread and check everything carefully - you've been looking at this long enough, you may not be 'seeing' the settings.

If you follow the prep and then the setup on pg27, you should have a working setup.

If not, then do a model re-set (clears everything you've done in that model) or move to a new model number and then start over. This seems complicated, but its a matter of following the directions at each step. Its really not that hard. I have a 3PK and a 3PJS and this is a lot like my 3PJS.

If you have questions at any step, get them answered as you go. Patience, when you realize what you're doing or not doing, you're going to have a really nice radio!

What a frustrating experience. So after all of that the problem was I didn't calibrate the ESC to the transmitter. I went to the slash manual and followed the directions and that fixed it. I was so focused on the Futaba manual that I didn't even think about the ESC. Thank you for the help I am so happy it is finally done and I have a new radio.
