3racing shocks, available at thetoyz.com are a huge improvement over Associated's RC18 units. They are also a direct fit replacement. They come in short/short lengths for the SC and R, or in short/long lengths like the B and T.

i just picked up a set of losi upgraded aluminum shocks with nitrate shafts and they are so smooth its funny....plus there longer than the factroy. there actually longer than the rc18t rear shocks. they also mounted up 100% perfect with the included mounts that came with the shock for the top and the stock ball stud at tthe bottom i highly recomend this upgrade the shocks are smoother than my ft sc10 or my ft b4 lol losi seriously has owned associated in the shocks department

well i tried every tires from rc18t rc18b and rc18mt which i knew wouldnt fit...
the biggest problem is the offset on the rc18b front tires or else it would work. i havent tried any rc18r wheels but they dont even make a off-road tires for the rc18r wheels....so im out of luck for now. even the sc18 wheels are different sizes like the front is smaller than the rear which i hate.
i guess we have to wait in the mean time everyone email proline for tires and wheels, i talked to a tech and he told me of enough people email them they will make tires and bodys
here is there email please everyone email away!

what i ment is that the inside of the rin and the outside is a different size so nothing will work that will fit under the stock body....i have tried every tire and wheels combo possible and so far its a no go! i guess we need to email proline guys!

ok i have installed a novak 13.5 mongoose and alot of other goodies and it has a huge difference in performance. i can actually go around a 10th scale track just as fast as a 13.5 slash. one other modd would be to take out the belts and soak them in wd40 overnight and it will be alot smoother. and i also put rc18r mip cvds on and since the rc18r outdrive cups are open and the sc18 is closed...so i had to shave off just a little from the dogbone end and the car actually has better smoother suspension travel.

i've the same set up you've but no need to shave anything out of the dogbones ends . . . could be i'm using FT "R" short shocks, everything on the front end is very smooth,a whole lot better compared to stock though.

Blew the stock motor in my SC18 and installed a mamba 5400 motor and man is this thing bad to the bone right now!! I hope they release new tires soon cuz im going to need them! I also took out the belt tensioner and it rolls alot smoother. Hope to get 18t shocks soon

i got my sc18 a couple of weeks back, i added the 13.5 mongoose also and mip cvds, and I did the "remove the tensioner" mod and it works groeat so far the two weeks I have run it. i don't think it would do well at all on a 10th scale track but it works fine on carpet indoors and smoother tracks
