It seems Tamiya plans on doing some mini rallying. I just found a page for a Suzuki Swift M05Ra kit on Tamiya's website. Sadly, no pics or any info, but its always fun to speculate, right?

Hey guys. Are the suspension components the same from M-03 to M-05? Just wondering as I want to get a set of the M-05 rear Alu uprights (#54178) for my M-03 and want to make sure they will fit. Also after a set of Alu front steering knuckles if anyone has a part number for those.

M05 and M03 rear suspension is identical, so the M05 rear uprights will fit

The only problem with the alloy rear uprights for the M05 are they have only 1.5 degrees toe in , the kit ones have 2.0 dergees , and the alloy M05 front knuckles fit great
on the M03 , you get the instructions for fitting them with the set

I've had (or have) the the same problems - And I don't have any uplifting comment I'm afraid.

There are several medium length bodies to get, but the only L-body i have found is made by Kamtec.co.uk and is a version of the VW Beetle.

But you can use Mini Coopers and the other M03/M05 bodies on your M04 (M or L version of course).

I have made this list of bodies that will fit on a M04. I haven't actually tried them all, since I can't get hold of them, but theese should fit.

I have installed the M05 ball diff, and I notice a lot of side to side play. maybe a 1/8-1/4". Is this normal?

sorry ya'll to ask but a buddy has a m05 and needs some driveshafts to fit while his cvds come in on order... will my m03 stock driveshafts work?? tried a search but could not find anything

Yep, all the front end components are essentially identical, including driveshafts

The diff coupling is different from all the old mini on M-05. The new m-05 diff cup/coupling is "square" type where the m-03 is the having many tiny lines all round.

The diff coupling (outdrive) is considered a chassis component. From there outwards it's all the same.

And if he's talking driveshafts then there's no issue.
